I have a wife and I love her. She knows all about how beautiful I think Hanni is, and I've accepted (and been often reminded) that Sunghoon from Enhypen could steal her away from me in a single glance. Since we're even, she wanted me to post this here.
We both like NewJeans but I'm the bigger fan by a landslide. I let her know that Danielle had posted a challenge to write a letter to someone you like and that I wanted her help picking out some nice stationery and didn't elaborate any further.
She automatically assumed I was going to write a gushy fanletter to Hanni where I finally confess my delusional love for another woman and then leave her on the next redeye for Soeul. She didn't say much, but the silent judgment was deafening lol. Little did my wife know that all the while I was planning to write a letter for her. She woke up to a love letter from me for the first time in a very long time. Hearts warmed, points scored, all of the above.
Thanks Danielle. Thanks NewJeans for bringing such brightness into my life. I know it's been a rough ride for the past handful of months, but I've never been more glad to say I'm a fan and that you mean so much to me.
PS – don't read too much into that opening line of the letter, roasting each other is our love language lol
