Context: Lily was describing her opinion on several characters/storylines in High School Musical, and inadvertently used “number” hand gestures. She appears to get flustered because it’s the height of presidential election season in Korea at the moment; and showing a: ‘thumbs up’ (#1), ‘peace sign’ (#2), or three (#3) or four (#4) fingers can be interpreted as supporting a specific candidate [the numbers correspond to each candidate’s respective place/order on the ballot].

Idols are generally advised by their agencies not to make political gestures or statements during elections, in order to avoid potential controversies. Aespa’s Karina got herself in a bit of a firestorm over an IG post yesterday, where she supposedly wore clothing indicating support/endorsement of the conservative party’s candidate (#2).
