NewJeans/NJZ is pure joy for my ears.
Drum and Bass beats with snappy, angelic pop vocals.
5 members and each one is an incredible dancer and vocalist.
5 members and each one of them could be a superstar in a different timeline.
There is legit no one like them; I will wait 4 years if I have to.

Def music first, which is the best music catalog in kpop imo and I love the girls’ vocals.Their aesthetics is also top notch and insanely pleasing, no one’s doing it like them. also their merch 🥹 everything is perfection ✨ The girls are extremely likable. There is no other group like Newjeans.

I wasn’t a K-pop listener at the time. I didn’t really like the style of a lot of the popular groups that I had heard over the years. Everything felt very “maximalist” and I kinda thought that all K-pop music was going to be flashy, and in your face like that. When I heard NewJeans, I saw a more laid back style that came off as effortless and cool. Now I like way more K-Pop music, but if it weren’t for NewJeans I probably wouldn’t have given the other stuff much of a chance.

For me personally, the first thing was the music. I had heard Hype Boy in a reel and thought it was catchy so I looked it up. Slowly, I got to like them and their music, as I listened to more songs. Also, they were literally my age. I was 18 and I found out me and Danielle were born on the same day, meaning 2 members are older than me, 2 are younger than me and one has equally been on this Earth for as many days as I have. They felt very relatable

The first time i saw the Supernatural Choreography on a dance practice vid. I was heavily into Black Pink but a relative newbie on kpop overall and somehow wasn’t into New Jeans. TBH it was like November of last year.
I saw their practice videos and was mind blown. Never saw a group move like that, in sync but out of it. The song was fire too.
It sent me down the rabbit hole and i love them. I’m just so mad i got onto them late. I was living on Michigan ave in Chicago the year they played Lolla and would’ve absolutely went if i even knew them back then. I just remember everyone in my building talking about how they were going to see New Jeans and i thought their name was weird and thought nothing more of it.

Definitely their music first but that was a gateway. Even as a fan from 2nd gen their sound felt different and somehow both fresh and like a throwback at the same time. Then in a period of depression the YouTube algorithm started showing me behind the scenes videos of them reacting to their MVs. I’d never really personally followed a group close enough to know the members to any degree beyond Big Bang, so I didn’t expect to get invested but I kept watching and eventually really just loved their personalities and energy too and I’ve just grown as a fan ever since.

Cool with you. Angelic voices with sick instrumentals and that ethereal like dance? It was a revelation to me.

when i first heard attention it felt like a breath of fresh air. Like i usually listen to loud kpop music (skz, ateez blackpink etc.) so newjeans music was a huge change from that. Then ditto came out and i fell in love with newjeans music and the members 😭

Their music and the way they marketed themselves. Like, I still remember the exact moment the Attention MV showed up on my YouTube feed, and falling in love with their looks and the song. I was in awe reading the comments of everyone saying “who are they!?” “What’s this?!” We were all so puzzled and amazed at the same time.

The songs, the concept, the choreo, the fashion, and their presentation for starters.
But yeah, the music breaks so much new ground in pop and K-Pop.
Who the hell decides to do a New Jack Swing song in 2024? NewJeans. Who the hell does poplocking in their choreo in 2024? NewJeans. They’ve made timeless music and influenced the next gen of K-Pop.
