The choreo goes off but the song is so short, as to be expected with new releases these days. Cautiously optimistic for what’s to come for GIRLSET.

  2. Cool music video (even though it’s more of a performance/dance video), waiting for their mini album next since they said they’re more involved with it and that they tried many different sounds.

For the countdown live, Kendall said she wants the group to perform for the Valorant finals, and this song is kinda along the lines of those Riot Games tracks. And Savanna they need to make a Spanish song too, so I’m excited about that as well.

OMG Lexus cried during the countdown livestream right now after performing, my bias since America2Korea, hopefully this redebut will be good for them.

Fun fact, they were playing The Weeknd’s Timeless and then also KPop Demon Hunters’ Golden and What It Sounds Like, so apt for this midnight, been waiting for so long.

Not bad but not good. Quite disappointing honestly. They deserved way more. This is their first appearance in over a year and this is what they come back with? Wow

  4. Honestly so good and catchy but the GLARING issue of being close to 2 exactly minutes and the final chorus not even being a full one is genuinely disappointing. If they somehow release an extended version, I’d stream that in a heartbeat.
Also this is just a me thing but was anyone else put off by the fact that the camera got up way too close to their faces in some parts? Like girl back tf up.

I like a lot of what’s going on here, lots of energy and a lot of sections sound good vocally. Strong starting point, also plenty of room to grow from here. Definitely feels too short, will play better if it goes on a mini (EP?) in a month or two.

Gotta be honest…I’m a bit ugh, whelmed.

It’s not that its a bad song or anything. It’s just a little short, and then the live stream was just a quick performance that wasn’t even that well put together on the audio tech side, and then it ended.

That was a lot of hype for very little payoff.

This really only affirms to me that XO Call Me really is their best song. JYPE America don’t know what they doing anymore.

it’s short, but honestly SO good. treating this as their predebut/reintroduction and i think it’s a really catchy song. the girls look good and i love sav and kendall taking more of prominent role vocally!!

    GIRLSET FIGHTING

  8. The barely over 2 minutes is a giant disappointment. What’s there sounds good but I don’t know how well the vocals translated to live (I found myself quickly turning it down the first few seconds before I could turn it back up)

  9. It’s perfect for what they want: to show off their skills and transition to their new sound. Excited for the EP!

  10. It’s a beaten to death opinion at this point but, man does this song need to be longer, hate this short song trend 😭

anyways, Savannah and Camila’s parts are so good, I hope JYP are quick to have them release an EP soon

The girls sound SIGNIFICANTLY better and I really like this sound for them. I honestly didn’t think they’d be able to pull a comeback after the KG stuff came out, but I think this is a smart rebrand with a very different direction.

The cutesy concept was not it and I’m definitely interested to see where Girlset will go

  12. This is just so generic. There is nothing to took you or anything interesting in this song. This could be any generic song you’d hear at H&M, or in the background of a Love is Blind shot.

Barely over two minutes… And a choreography video? I thought there’d be a proper music video based on the teaser 😭 Is this actually a pre-release track? I might be out of the loop.

  14. multistansendhelp on

I feel like they should have waited a bit longer and put something together to make a proper splash – not a two minute song shot in a tiny room.

This is the big “reintroduction” that some people have been waiting on, but it feels like an afterthought and not a main event.

Now they’ve shifted tones they’re going to be in the ring with a lot of other western artists and there’s a lot of catching up to do. JYP needs to do it properly.

interesting that they put out choreo version before the actual MV. commas sounds like something that i would like but it’s not landing right with me, might just be a jype thing in terms of their production being different from what i usually vibe with when it comes to girlcrush. and like everyone else said, too short.

  16. This only works as an introduction to their new journey so I’m not thinking this is their **MAJOR DEBUT**. However, it’s enough of a teaser to make me want more. Love the choreo, really nice vocals, the lyrics are a bit predictable but I wasn’t expecting anything super crazy. I will stay seated for whatever comes next 🪑

  17. Ooooh I really liked this. Yeah the video is low budget with some bad camera work and the song could be longer, but the choreo hits and the girls sound so good. Also they look amazing. Can’t wait to see what they do next

These girls are so insanely stunning and clearly have star power and are talented. But what is this song? They deserved better. They could be huge with the right music.

  19. yourbestfriendjoshua on

I’m glad they somehow fit a bridge and a grander feeling final chorus/outro into the song, but it’s WAY too short…

  20. I’m honestly surprised there’s a bridge and ending even tho it’s 2 minutes. Most of the time they just cut it after the 2nd chorus

  21. I think most agrees it’s too short. But for me, the choreo and the chorus (even if a bit too repetitive) make up for it.

Good job, girls. Looking forward to what else you will release.
