Hello book luvers of r/bangtan! It’s officially September aka Namkook birthday month! Anyone else obsessed with the new birthday reel format debuted for our Kookie’s birthday? Look he’s all grown up now (insert meme of Yoongi marveling at grown JK here). As we look forward to our next September baby’s birthday, here’s the winning book from our September poll ….
Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto
Kitchen is an enchantingly original and deeply affecting book about mothers, love, tragedy, and the power of the kitchen and home in the lives of a pair of free-spirited young women in contemporary Japan.

My library has it, and I just returned my other book today. It’s unusual that any of my libraries have the book club books without an extraordinary wait.
I feel like I’ve voted for this book every time it’s come up on the polls and it finally won a poll!

I read this a couple of years ago and loved it, I’m really excited to revisit it and pick up things I’ve missed last time!
