So I kinda see what they are going for. To make up for probably the lack of budget their division is given they are compensating with some nice camera work which looks really good once they enter into that dance sequence. Before that they were trying for a minimalist + modern set, but it tastes rather like a lack of budget instead, there’s a fine line I suppose.

Suddenly the performance video releasing first makes sense

Edit: I just noticed the girls are completely green screened onto the opening/ending hallway set-

  3. If I didn’t know they were from jyp, I would think they were from a nugu company. What’s this mv 😭

  4. Is this really a music video? Where is the budget? It does say “official video,” but I’m worried for these girls. Is JYP properly investing in them? Because out of all their groups, they seem to have, I don’t know, not the best music videos.

Do you guys think JYP are the cheapest label out of the big4?? Because with this MV and make up it looks like they are

Even nugu groups nowadays have more budget than this. JYP want to rebrand them but also don’t want to spend money. JYP is really so cheap for a big4 company.

  7. JYPE should “spend some, money on them, money on them” instead of using the one set and a dream. They have the money and although the song is a banger it’s true what people say, they are afraid to make the full kick and want the public to grow fond of the girls before they let out the big bucks and that is painfully obvious.

The public is not supposed to give their money and then you put effort into your product (that being the Girlset brand) you as a vendor show your product first, make it shine and then people decide if they will spend on it or not.

  8. This is arguably one of the moments where they’ll have some of the most attention on them, as people are curious to see how JYP approaches this group, compared to VCHA, and…this is what they decide to reintroduce them with? I’ve kinda already accepted that both iterations of the group aren’t for me, but I can still recognize a high quality product, and this isn’t really it.

I also don’t get why the choreo version came out first.

Idk it just seems like a lack of faith from JYP. Hopefully their future releases give them more of a fighting chance.

  9. Sigh…..

At this point we have to ask ourselves, are we the ones responsible for being fed the same slop of food at cafeteria or do we love the slop so much that we don’t care.

I wonder who the girl is at the beginning of the vid, is it like a trainee cameo or something or just random😭😂

  11. What is this budget… Filming it on one set isn’t even the issue— Katseye filmed basically a performance video for Gameboy on one set, and the difference in quality between these two videos is MILES apart.

    These poor girls…

i think they wanted the girls to go viral for the dance (especially after katseye’s gap ad) but releasing this first would’ve made more sense imo. it could’ve done with more dance scenes and especially more solo shots of the girls

  13. JYP failed these girls in so many ways…

Also shouldn’t a choreo vid drop AFTER the normal MV? Seems like they already gave up..complete lack of budget even though they are singing about someone spending money on them.

    Song is catchy though!

  14. They could’ve had a better mv if they did self made vid following them around spending with their own credit cards filming themselves treating themselves at the mall. Then having a girliepop montage of them trying the clothes in the dressing room then wearing all of it out. They wear boas, sunglasses, heels, dresses then run out of the store and do a dance break then drive away in a convertible

Now I know JYPE isn’t struggling for cash. They’re probably too cheap to spend on the girls or former VCHA turned Girlset is already in debt (the money JYPE already spent on them before the hiatus, lawsuit, and rebrand).

  16. Choreo looks fun and the girls really seem to give their all, but damn, I was expecting something more memorable both in the song and MV. It just looks cheap, which is funny given the lyrics.

Also give Kendall some eyebrows please.

  17. whoever is managing their marketing really missed the mark. imo they should’ve done a nj style debut, out of nowhere (and the mv first not the dance version). there would’ve been shock value because of the huge change in concept. THEN the dance challenges would’ve come out naturally and people would find the chorus catchy.

the way they’ve done it now, we’re tired of the chorus by the time the video drops. then the mv is almost exactly the same as the dance version so whats the point. not to mention how short the song is

  18. Honestly, I preferred them singing Y.O Universe. I get that it is kidzbop and it was mostly for the benefit of the minors but they all shined in that concept. From the survival, they are all very down to earth and earnest girls.

I don’t get why mature means less clothing, more make up and singing about spending money on them in the cheapest set ever.
