The first image is from the MV, the other is from Spotify. I'm inclined to believe that the captions on the MV are the correct lyrics, byt honestly the ones from Spotify make more sense and sound closer to what I hear in the song.

But either way, any guesses on what it means? The MV version makes less sense to me than the Spotify version. What's "the word"? Game?

  1. I’m gonna take a guess but I think “sand” makes the most sense in the context of the isolated lyric. In my mind it sounds like sand should be worried because when you show up to the beach you are going to step on it. In other words you’re the sand’s boss and will walk all over it in a dominating fashion

Always thought it had something to do with the “bring her swimming on the first date” thing but not sure how exactly

  3. It’s about as comprehensible as all her other music so I’m not surprised in the slightest

“Bringing sand to the beach” is a saying referencing the folly of bringing something to a place where there’s already plenty of said thing at the place. It’s used in common parlance when a single guy would bring a girl to a club or to a wedding as a guest when there’s already plenty of other women there he could give his attentions to. Megan is referencing the inverse, basically saying all the other women (in this instance, sand) should be worried – inferring all their men would be looking at her instead of them

Tidal lyrics have “sand need to worry” also. I would bet that’s the correct line.

double entendres and homophones are super common in afro-american rap, wouldn’t be surprised if she intended for both to be possible interpretations of her verse. but yes the MV lyrics are in line with the official lyrics, I wonder if the Spotify lyrics are done in collaboration with the artist’s teams or through AI
