Happy Namgi day!! One of my favorite Namgi pictures. This year live has been peak namgi content. Another favorite moment of mine is when Yoongi comes back from his surgery and he has to do a photoshoot with Namjoon. Namjoon saying it’s an honor to his family to share the space with Yoongi, had me melt into soft puddles.

15 years??? That’s a whole adolescent! Happy Namgi-versary 🥳 thank you for the reminder and for this thread, OP. I can’t wait to go through everyone’s comments!

For me, there is this very specific Namgi genre that I am super attached to and one that always gets me emotional – and It’s Yoongi making sure to *verbally* thank Joon for everything that he does as BTS’ leader 😭 of course, all the members have done that over the years, thanking and praising each other, in written interviews, etc. But there is something that gets me about how Yoongi, who often struggles with expressing affection (especially verbally), throws away all that self-consciousness **to tell Namjoon directly** how much he appreciates him as a leader. Every time he does it, he always does so with 💯 sincerity and respect as well. I’ve actually noted down all the moments I can remember, because it hits me so hard every time:

* **FESTA 2018 Prom Party** – Right as BTS was being catapulted to meteoric fame while struggling with it all behind the scenes, during “LY Tear” era. Yoongi picked a seemingly comedic segment (*they were sending each other messages anonymously*) during the show to thank Joon for everything he does as their leader. I feel like this moment meant SO MUCH, and you can tell Joon really appreciated it (*posting screenshots since the actual vid is paid content on Weverse*)

* **FESTA 2020** – when they were answering questions describing each other, and Yoongi had to [speak about Joon](https://youtu.be/t9zPnWQIiuw?si=GLtBtqlqW6MFDWMR&t=34m24s) (youtube). Describing the role as something no one else could do. Joon’s smile says it all :’)
* **ILAND 2020** – when BTS appeared on the reality show ILAND, and answered questions for advice from the trainees. One of them had questions for Joon about being a leader. Joon, being his humble self, was talking about how he too struggled at first, but Yoongi [would have none of it](https://youtu.be/NE8Vr2dfuHs?si=gd4C8PK8swCQRqNR&t=1m14s) (youtube) with Joon enthusiast Tae backing him right up! Too precious! 😭
* **Let’s BTS 2021** – when they were sending each other stuff they wanted to hear or receive. Of course Yoongi found another opportunity to thank [leader RM](https://youtu.be/Ebi10G6Jd0I?si=WISLhGKwyUFZOodk&t=5m32s) (youtube). The fact he does this so much that Joon knew immediately it was for him too 🥹
* **Run BTS ep 153** – when they both had to climb LOTTE tower together for the punishment. They were asked to shout something out loud to each other from the very top, and Joon was being playful but Yoongi immediately [locked in](https://youtu.be/MbDyprlpx3c?si=OMF25mdtrU4kw7vA&t=48m12s) (youtube) making Joon smile sheepishly 😭
* **Suchwita ep 9** – when Yoongi reflected on noticing how Joon has changed and grown over the years, and [thanked him yet again](https://youtu.be/YXr6-vXzSrI?si=zAmB03tijWCmyKXc&t=29m17s) (youtube). I will never get over how much he means every word he says.

Putting all this together got me all emotional and tearing up a bit 💜 especially after RPWP era and knowing how much Joon has struggled with all the pressure and responsibilities thrust on him as BTS’ leader, having his beloved friend of 15 years appreciating him so much and always being there for him is so reassuring. I love Yoongi so much! I love this duo so so much! May they never be separated ever again.
