So I'm a random 22yo guy, I listen to a lot of things but I've never followed a group, or gotten a lot into kpop.
So, I remember someone said Golden was basically I AM, so I saw the video, didn't think much of it and that's that. But, later, I saw the video again, then again, until slowly I realized 2 things: The song was fire, and the girls were sooo cute, I was falling very hard for Yujin, specially in the I AM MV.
So I saw the I AM MV whenever it was in my recommended, until I saw the other MVS and looked up the group to know who they were.
So now my fav songs and mvs are I AM, Attitude, After Like, Off the Record.
At first I didn't like the songs a lot, Attitude was Tom's Diner, didn't think much of Off the Record, but now they're my favorites because they're amazing songs after a few listens, and I the girls are so cute.
The hook in I AM is amazing, and it's percussion sounds strong with high volume, I love the verses with Yujin, very cool hairstyle.
Attitude's hook is also amazing, love the parts with Yujin, Wongyoung and Rei. When Wongyoung does a spin, great style.
After Like sounds like a 90's song, youu and II its more than Like, great part.
Off the Record has such dreamy ambience sounds and melody. The part where they sing "Take off your innocent mask" up until the hook has great melody. The ending verse reminds me so much of Lovefool, it was probably an inspiration.
Also Yujin, in my eyes, is one of the prettiest girls I've seen. Wow, very striking look and smile.
I'm starting to listen to the other songs more and more, so what do you think? Best songs? Opinions?

Welcome- it’s great to dive into IVE. My suggestion is don’t miss out on LOVE DIVE. My favorite song of theirs.
Yujin got yu too huh?

Oh also don’t skip the b-sides 🔥
you should start with all songs that have music videos first then listen to these
1) i’ve ive
2) ive switch
3) royal, and my satisfaction
4) their jp debut ‘wave’ and ‘classic’
It was the I Am mv, especially the Yujin parts that got me too.
Welcome aboard.
Yujin got another one lol
(Sorry for the essay, it’s hard for me to shut up sometimes)
32 year old guy here, and welcome! A tiny bit over 2 years ago I wanted to try listening to something new on my way to work one day. Until that point my only other exposure to K-pop (aside from the obvious Gangnam Style) was trying out BTS way back and half listening to a few other songs at a Korea exhibition in London. Nothing had massively grabbed me in the past, but I thought I’d give a K-pop Spotify playlist a shot – over the pandemic I’d made a Japanese rock/indie playlist with some bangers, so why not give this a shot?
I remember Love Dive being the first song that played and I was absolutely hooked on the group from that point forward: the oooh harmonies were infectious, and the song was so damn catchy I had to listen to more. By complete coincidence I found out they were touring Europe and coming to London, with tickets going on sale that very same day, I believe. I thought “why the hell not? It’s something different” and grabbed the cheapest seat available (lower tier seating right at the back of the arena fwiw). It was a phenomenal show from the girls, of course, but my appreciation of the group has grown and developed since.
Ive Switch came out not long after I’d thrown myself into the genre, and it was exciting to hear new songs from my ults so soon. I learned quickly that the release schedule of most Kpop groups is extremely different to what I was used to, with genres and concepts changing at the drop of a hat. To pick some examples from the I’ve Ive album, I adore the big, bombastic I Am, but an absolute highlight of the record is Shine with Me – a really moving ballad with lyrics from Wonyoung. Particularly since I’ve dived (pun not intended) deeper into the genre and now like a lot of material from other groups, it’s a beautiful song on a practically flawless album I can always come back to and remember how I felt discovering what all this was really about.
Due to the fact that they were my first group, I don’t think I could pick a bias: all of them collectively broke down a barrier for me and showed me what I’d been missing. Gun to my head though, Rei is a ball of positive energy and really shines in their TikTok videos, for instance. Her adorable arm choreo moment in Attitude has me in a chokehold lmao.
Anyway, sorry for rambling. I don’t really post much but love lurking here. The fans I met in London last year were so sweet and welcoming to a 30+ year old guy who was telling anyone who’d listen that it was his first K-pop show… Fingers crossed they announce their second world tour dates soon, as expected!
Yujin got me too
Yujin owned that I Am mv no doubt
