ENHYPEN Anniversary live. The recap is a bit all over the place because they kept talking over each other and I couldn’t find many translations.
They cheered for becoming „5 years old”. Jungwon said that he feels like this is the fanciest decor since debut.
Even though this live is for anniversary they also cheered for the MAMA daesang and started talking about it right away. Sunghoon and Jay synced up clapping and the others saw the video of them clapping in sync after the daesang announcement. They were the last performers, it was their first time being last and it was very meaningful they were still catching their breath as they came down after closing the stage, and a MAMA pd/organiser came and told them to go up to the artist seats right away, so at that point they were starting to wonder/hope if they are being sent up fast because they would win. But just because they sat down they still weren’t sure and didn’t know (like they don’t know on music shows either until it’s announced). It was amazing and felt goosebumps when they heard their name. Ni-ki heard engenes shouting their name before the announcement too. It was like a dream.
Jungwon thought he wouldn’t cry and the others didn’t expect it either, but he cried so sadly, Jungwon said this year wasn’t easy it was a hard year.
Winning a daesang in 2025 was actually their goal from debut. They haven’t talked about this before, but in their first dorm (the one that was show non Enhypen&Hi) their protocol team wrote 2025 on a whiteboard as the year when Enhypen will be number 1/win a daesang, and they all said they will do their best. It felt so far in the future then and they didn’t expect/weren’t sure it would actually happen, but it really did.
They filmed the Chamber 5 video a few days before Lotte World so they did their best to not show that they know the choreo well and act like they forgot so engenes wouldn’t know. *(kind reminder here that fandom/socmed drama is not welcome on the sub so please keep it classy!)*
They kicked off award season with the MAMA performance. Sunghoon actually had a smoke device in his hand that was supposed to show after Ni-ki „bit” him as if there was fog/smoke coming out of his mouth, and it came out well during rehearsal but it didn’t show during the stage.
Not just their staff but also the dancers were there waiting to see if they win the daesang. Jungwon said some belift staff members recorded their reactions to the announcement and sent it on slack (company chatroom) how they were screaming, he found it touching. (Looks like not all members chat that chat.) They thanked engenes again for the daesang, it was meaningful because it was all achived by engenes strength.
They said that now it’s been 5 years, but this is still a beginning, and they will aim for higher goals next.
They are preparing for the next album, Heeseung said he thinks Engenes will really like it. Jungwon asked if it was the last day of November, and started to say that then slowly /they will get closer.. everyone looked at him and and he stopped and said no nothing. They all just went eh. Jungwon said they have been saying a new album is coming out since like Walk the line europe, then had to keep saying there’s still a lot left. Now it’s not far and not close (but then they also said it’s close now).
They saw that the reactions were good to the Pit Stop video, multiple members saw everyone posted fancams of the Drunk-Dazed encore in Amsterdam. Jay said Jake and Sunghoon were at fault but Sunghoon said it was Jake and Jay, Jay asked did he watch the video(s)? Sunghoon said he did. Then Jay asked how can you still think I was at fault?! They bickered and the other members said „Round 2”, Jake was trying to explain himself. Sunoo thought Jay started jumping a lot right away as soon as Jake touched his back. They tried to close the topic and Jay blurted out ’Anyway it wasn’t my fault’ so they continued and talked about the group pic they took after and how they stopped to take a pic and Jungwon thought you could see subtle expressions, Ni-ki looked like „ah what’s with the hyungs”. They said now they can share these kind of stories too now that they are on their 5th year and comfortable with engenes.
The mentioned that they don’t really like eating on live because they don’t want stuff to get stuck on their teeth and show (Jungwon knows that well) and Jay said he’s afraid pika pika would come out.
They started talking about bungeoppang and food. Jay and Jungwon were on a walk once when it suddenly started snowing and they bought some, and Jungwon said it was actually pretty bad. They remembered they made bungeoppang years ago for some content themselves. Sunghoon started talking about flour a lot so in the end they just laughed.
Ni-ki suggested that they should have a daesang celebration team meal, the decided they should have beef and when asked who will pay first they said to play tock paper scissors then decided that belift will pay! This reminded them of times where engenes at fansigns made them choose the card of who’s paying and they often see which ones they didn’t want them to choose cause it was the engene’s card.
