This is something I've been wanting to write for the longest time. I'm a little bit of a variety show fiend (that's how I got into seventeen, through GoSe) and generally I enjoy consuming idol variety contents. Out of many genres of variety, I enjoy interviews since sometimes they give you a glimpse of behind-the-scenes stuff or how the production process works. I want to share some of my favorites, in case some people didn't know or want to check it, and if you have favorite interviews please do share!
I define interview contents as shows in which the main portion/segment is talking, where they answer questions whether it's predetermined or from the host(s)! So I won't include purely variety shows like Knowing Bros or Weekly Idol.
- Goblin Who Steals Wisdom (OT13) – Easily one of their best guestings, this was a year after their early contract renewal and they talked extensively of what it meant for them and some behind the scene stuff. From this show we learned that Mingyu played an important role as the mediator and some more traineeship stories. I find the interview really high quality overall and super insightful.
- Chattering With Nah / Wageul Wageul (OT13) – It's not a classic interview content as it's more casual, but they do talk and answer Na PD's questions and we also hear what they think about their production process from album making to dance practice. They have filmed multiple episodes of this show and it's always a delight, partly because they are so comfortable with Na PD and the other crews already.
- Seventeen's Dawn is Hotter than Day (OT13) – This interview series consists of 3 unit interviews and 1 epilog video where they answer questions about their unit dynamics and reflect how things have changed over the years. This was also filmed after they renewed the contract. I find the questions really high quality and insightful, and the overall tone of the show reflective and thoughtful, so it's a nice change from their usual chaotic vibes. If you're curious how the unit dynamics differ from one another I'd highly suggest watching this one.
- Suga's Suchwita Ep. 10 (Woozi) – A really nice talk show where Woozi talked in depth about his role as a member and producer of Seventeen. In general, Woozi really don't come alone to a lot of variety shows so I find the fact that he came out and was able to talk about his thought process and feelings to a fellow idol producer like Suga really special. We learned that he took a different approach when writing Super and FML, and it was quite insightful.
- Take Some Rest with Choi Youngjun (Hoshi) – Compared to the previous ones I mentioned, this one is veryy new and tbh I haven't watch the entirety of it but I really like what I see so far. It's basically just 47 minutes of Choi Youngjun, Seventeen's main choreographer, talking with Hoshi about everything dance and choreography related. They talk about which choreography was the most memorable, the behind process of making a choreography, and how Seventeen could reach where they are now from performance-related perspectives. Hoshi was super laid-back here, but you can tell it's also because he's comfortable talking with someone he's known well and worked with for years.
- SVT 95 line Interview with Elle Korea (95z) – This one is much more lighthearted than the others, but I loove their dynamics here. I think it's rare that we have age unit interviews, and this one was so much fun. My favorite question is how they view other age units, and their answers were funny too.
- SVT Hiphop team Interview with Esquire (HHU) – Also a lighthearted one, I like this one for the same reason as above which is you can see their dynamics. They looked like comfortable and relaxed here, so there are many funny comments that are very enjoyable to watch.
- SVT Jaejae combo with MMTG (OT13) – Tbh this one is not purely a talk show, but I want to include it because it's such an iconic episode and so much tea was spilled that day… lol including the infamous Jeju boat drama. Jaejae is a really great host, she's engaging and always very prepared with funny inside jokes or memes, and Seventeen always have so much fun with her.
I'll stop here for now! There's so many other interesting talk show guestings that I didn't include – Salon Drip, Not Much Prepared, Dino's interviews with Suju D&E or Jaejoong, the Mindset interviews, Pinggyego, The8's Teatime, etc. I hope this post somehow helps anyway 🙂
I also want to know your favorite talk show appearance or interview of theirs! Whether it's in youtube, with host or self hosted, feel free to share yours ☺️

I really love the Na PD interviews. He often asks questions I’ve never heard asked before but I totally want to know as a fan! The nitty gritty details !
This was an online article which I can’t find rn probaly because the link got taken down (UGH) but it’s that one interview which took place in 2019? but it had some funny stuff going on like:
* Talking about something memorable and Jun mentioning that he saw somebody crowdsurfing to Aju Nice
* Talking about fears, and it’s one member (Mingyu?) saying something deep and existential. And another (DK?) who’s just like I’m afraid of bugs
I could be mixing two interviews into one but they were very funny reads lol. They have a few enjoyable ones!
I just want to say, thank you for sharing this! As a toddler fan ;_; I love doing deep dives in older contents ;_;
