HYBE’s African Music Push Begins With Tyla as First Artist Supported: ‘Unlimited Potential’

  1. Tyla is crazy talented and I don’t think she’s reached her full potential. Fingers crossed they help her get there.

  2. It’s both easy and cynical for a rich media company like Hybe to buy an artist like Tyla and spin it as supporting African artists. Let’s see when they sign any artist who hasn’t won a Grammy. If they are moving in this area, it’s because they see a way to extract value from the artists and industry, rather than oh so generously support it.

What does this mean? Will she be pushed in the USA, internationally, or in both places?

Tyla unnie´s ending fairy soon! 🫰Joking, but also not, I´d love to see her on Korean music shows!

Also, I remember long time ago Bang PD said that the future popular music trends would be Latin American music and Afrobeats. Hybe Latin America already exists with several latino artists, and now Hybe is working with African artists! Hope great things come from supporting talented artists all over the world!

  5. This is actually sick, if you think about it, it’s a huge milestone for kpop in general as it’s getting more mainstream attention. 2025 was a huge year for kpop, we had APT, KDH, Katseye and now this

It looks like HYBE wants to be the first to set up shop in as many regional markets as possible. HYBE Middle East next?

I also anticipate JYPE will announce an African subsidiary next year, since they seem to follow HYBE wherever they go: first in America, then in Latin America and India.
