This is the next in the series of song discussions — the Ad Mare discussions are here for O.O and here for Tank.

Between Ad Mare and Entwurf they did a few side things, first of which is a rather odd collab with the children's program Gabby's Dollhouse. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this collab was — I don't think that this NMIXX cover of the show's OP was actually used as the Korean intro, and the other song is just a random song from one of the characters. Maybe the company behind the show paid JYP to do this? I just don't see what either the show or NMIXX gained from this.

This is technically two songs but they're short and there's only one version of each so it makes sense to do them both this week.

For Hey Gabby:

For Sprinkle Party I think there is just one video:

Honestly, I’m not sure there’s any need to cover a song like this. Maybe if we go through all the other official album tracks first and then talk about it as a kind of bonus, that could work.

Was it not used as the Korean Versions intro?? I’m shocked that seems like the only reason a Collab like this would exist. I wonder if anyone can find any use of the Nmixx version in other types of promo, otherwise they could’ve just had the girls act in the MV or something and not had them sing it 😅

  3. Hey Gabby!:

From today’s standpoint this is a very strange song for them, but in 2022, especially after O.O wasn’t well received, their musical direction was anything but clear.

Considering how well kids-music does on platforms like youtube, gambling on a viral hit with the little ones might have been the idea. I don’t really see how this would have worked, with it not even being the intro of the show, but marketing people think in mysterious ways.

I think Hey Gabby! is a cute little song and they deliver it nicely, but I’m not the target audience.

Overall nothing I would listen to, little kids may like it.

    Meow, me-meow, me-meow/10.

    Sprinkle Party:

This isn’t it. It’s super generic and isn’t even particularly playful or cute.

It really feels as if this was just part of the Hey Gabby! deal.

  4. This is just best left forgotten as hidden NMIXX lore like the JYP Coke song. Not an interesting song, and not particularly good.

  5. I would completely ignore it except Gabby’s dollhouse is my daughter’s favourite show, so she likes to watch/listen to it with me. Pretty new NMIXX fan, I was shocked to realize they actually did that haha…

  6. Honestly learning this was kind of worth it just for the fan asking Haewon and Sullyoon to sing it and their quick little burst of it to oblige. 😂

I really like both Hey Habby! and Sprinkle Party hahaha gives my brain a little particle of serotonin, as a treat🤪

  8. I agree with what other people have posted. The main song is catchy and the video is cute (Jiwoo needs to work on her lip-sync) but it’s pretty insubstantial. Sprinkle Party is just not very good.

I think what I will do in the future with these kind of songs is post them mid-week as a kind of side post since there doesn’t seem to be as much interest in this as in the main songs, which is perfectly understandable. There are only a few other songs of this kind (including their cover of Kiss, which is next, so I will make a thread for that + Kill This Love in the middle of the week and Dice will be next Friday)
