This is the main track from the second single album called "Entwurf". It seems like there are a lot more versions of this than the previous tracks (and they even sang it recently in Brazil). I'm going to just post the main ones and I hope that people will share in the comments any notable live or alternate versions, which I will add to the post.

This also brought on the first of the legendary NMIXX Lee Mujin appearances, with Lily appearing on Episode 29 to sing DICE as well as great covers of other songs (this probably deserves its own thread some day…)

One odd thing about DICE is that it spawned a Tiktok trend outside of the kpop fandom, based on a remixed version of the song — here's one of many examples, and if you really want to see it here's an 8 minute compilation. I'm not sure where the dance itself started (it's not the real dance).

  1. Personally I don’t like this as much as O.O. Initially they both seemed kind of random and chaotic to me but I’ve grown to like O.O a fair amount, whereas no matter how much I listen to DICE it just never clicks with me. There are some catchy parts, but I don’t think it will ever make it onto my regular playlists.

  2. The first song I heard was tank, and it turned me off so completely that I didn’t really give them another look until this dropped

Dice got me hooked. Went back and really listened to O.O, which is sucha fun track.

Dice is key to my fandom

  3. I’m not sure I can do Justice to DICE with words but I’ll try.

This was a gateway track for me getting into NMIXX because Lily’s solo performance on Lee Mujin was either the 2nd or 3rd NMIXX related content I ever saw.

Right after that I watched the MV and just loved how striking the Colors were and how it had a bit of an Alice In Wonderland vibe.

I love all the Stage Fits too and especially the ones where Lily is wearing the olive green and has her ICONIC upside down heart shaped bangs.

DICE also has one of my favorite changes ups ever with the Big 🌊🐱that Kyujin kicks off.

I’d say DICE was a Top 5-10 track for me all the way until Forward and BV but it’s still probably Top 15 for me.

I love LOVE 🎲 and Cool(Your Rainbow) but I’ll chime in on that one next time.

  4. While Kiss was the first NMIXX song (a cover but still) that I liked, DICE was the song that truly won me over.

We’ve of course got some really iconic moments like Jini’s “NMIXX change up, let’s go!”, Kyujin’s “Big wave, big wave…” and (though this isn’t technically part of the song) we have the moment they started the high note early, a mistake that ironically really showcased their talents.

DICE is also such an incredibly fun song to watch them perform, in part because everyone in the crowd knows and shouts “Big wave!” since it became so viral.

Kyujin’s red dress from the start of the MV is just so iconic IMO but a lot of the other outfits and makeup is kinda goofy. The outfits during the change up part are fairly good though, especially Jini’s which is just amazing and really made me fall for her visuals.

Despite saying all of that though, I don’t find myself coming back to listen to DICE as often as their later title tracks (besides party o clock). It’s less of a knock on DICE and more just goes to show how extremely good their later music is.

  5. I’m going to take this opportunity to highlight probably one smaller moments I really appreciate in Dice.

Haewon’s line: “So exciting, I’m so excited”
She absolutely nails the tone and inflection to deliver such a deadpan line. This girl can English.

Dice has so much going on. Solid rap, high notes from multiple members, great change up, catchy song. Really like Dice it feels like quintessential NMIXX to me. Although I’m not overly fond of the direction and such bright colours for the MV, more muted colours seem to suit NMIXX more.

  6. DICE is a really good song marred by the iconic Sullyoon high note transition out of the changeup. It’s very impressive and I love it on it’s own, but it just never feels right in the song. I also think it suffers from some relatively boring choreo outside the changeup and the dance break. The chorus choreography is kind of bland compared to O.O and Tank.

I want to reiterate that I do actually really like the song, and I listen to it a lot. But it’s pretty far down on my list of NMIXX songs. Out of the first 2 single albums, it’s my least favorite song. Still, I really love the experimentation, and I absolutely love the instrumental track. Especially during the changeup, that bubbly sound that drives the beat is addicting as hell.

Also, a confession: For a while when I was first getting into NMIXX, I really had a problem distinguishing Jiwoo from Jinni in this video. It’s obviously no problem now, and they don’t look alike, but for some reason in this MV I just could not figure it out lmao.

  7. Absolute banger that got me in to them!

That being said, it’s become one of my lesser liked nmixx songs because of how much more interesting I find their other music. I still listen to it from time to time, but it’s not really a song I associate with them anymore

  8. Of the transitions where they directly say “NMIXX, change up!” This one is my favorite. Kyujin’s Big Wave is just so iconic. Agree with superstaryu that Haewon’s nails the tone in “So exciting, I’m so excited”.

I also like the choreo, with Sullyoon “conducting” in the beginning into Kyujin sitting, and the staggered “Let’s-let’s roll the dice!” moves.

I generally don’t like garish colors so the MV didn’t leave the best first impression, but it has grown on me.
