It is 2023 — Jinni has left and NMIXX's first actual album is released, Expérgo. This brings the new tradition of the acapella highlight teaser video.
The first song on the album is Young Dumb Stupid, which I think was the pre-release? Anyway, here are the main videos:
- MV
- Stage practice – with live singing.
- Performance video
- Recording – This is the first full-length recording video, although you can't hear what the directors are saying.
- MV reaction
- Lily startled by fireworks in live performance
As usual, let me know any good live versions to add or other significant videos related to YDS (or the Expergo release).

I love YDS – it felt like a massive “idgaf” to everyone who was hating them. It probably was tbh lol. Jiwoo particularly shined this era, which was smart after Jinni left.
It’s also so catchy I stg every time I hear it it’s in my head for three business days
I legit hated this song for the longest time. I thought it sounded stupid (and young and dumb), to the point where I only had 19 songs in my concert review playlist. Then I actually watched it performed live during the concert and Haewon said “I love you, NSWER!” and I fell in love. Now I almost never skip it
Edit: in fact, lemme go listen to it right now lmao
I get why this song isn’t for everyone but I freakin’ love it. One of my favorites, especially of early NMIXX. While I wish they still did songs like this, I also think it’s good that they moved on from the cutesy phase.
Oh, and I should mention that the acapella highlight medleys are peak NMIXX as only NMIXX can NMIXX
I find it funny hearing Lily belt out “RING DING DOOOOOOONG OOOOOH!” like its the most meaningful line in the history of music. I like the song tho and even showed it to my non-kpop friends when the mv came out bc i thought they’d find it fun.
as a new nswer, i’ve went back to listen to most of their older songs but i gotta be honest, i’ve been avoiding this song like the plague until a few weeks ago LOL i think a large part of me was just hesitant to hear the interpolation of the nursery rhyme because of how common (and often meh) it is done in other kpop songs.
but i’m pleasantly surprised that the song is not that irritating at all – the post-chorus is a nice progression of the initial nursery melody & the bridge is ASCENDING literally with Lily’s A5 belt. it’s also a good showcase of the bratty/nasally rap style of jiwoo, her intro is perfect for the song’s mischevious vibe. i wouldn’t say it’s a song i’d loop all the time though and it’s not a concept that i think highlights all of the members’ strengths. it’s the type of song i’d vibe to at a concert but not necessarily in my day-to-day life, not unless i REALLY need to wake up. then it’s young dumb stupid 🤩
I never even thought this song would be considered polarizing. But it definitely seems like Western fans dislike it. Seeing how some songs that Western K-pop fans call “nursery rhymes” are perfectly fine in other cultures – and even liked by many people – really makes me realize how much people’s standards and perceptions can differ depending on the community they belong to. Personally, I think it’s a pretty good song.
Sorry to ruin the positive vibe in the comments but I legit hate this song. It caused me to lose all interest in them until recently. It took like 15 incredible b-sides to make up for how much I dislike this song.
I like the song. It’s stupid. That’s kinda the point. Have no issue with the nursery rhyme. Kyujin looks so goddamn cute in the MV.
This was before I became a fan, and while it’s cute, it’s not a song I’d recommend to non-fans to get them onside.
I do like how the song closes though. There’s something about Haewon’s delivery that gets me every time.
This song is catchy but the use of the nursery rhyme is hard to get past for me — it sticks in my head because of that but it doesn’t really have the staying power of their better songs. It has good moments though and the singing as usual is great.
I think this is the first song where they do the “NMIXX!” but don’t have the kind of jarring change from DICE and O.O?
It didn’t stick with me from the first few listen for the same reason people here have stated.
But once i get over the nursery rhyme the song is actually very NMIXX flavoured. I’ve grown to like it. I especially like Jiwoo “Maha maha” part.
Yeah, there’s people who hate this song.
But who cares? 😇
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve watched the [a capella clip of ‘Young, Dumb, Stupid’](https://youtube.com/shorts/hgxyAegfaAs?si=MLNo8sZlF0caIVOJ)! It is probably my favorite a capella they’ve done. I love Jiwoo’s hair in the clip and Kyujin tossing the mic is the perfect ending 🖤
As for the song itself, people could never make me hate this! I do have to admit though that I think the nursery rhyme part of the song in the first two choruses is probably the weakest part (I still like it!), but I also believe that it’s used really well in the final chorus when you have everything else adding to it. The final chorus is really perfect for the song and its message IMO.
Also, Jiwoo absolutely owns ‘Young, Dumb. Stupid’ IMO, even with Lily’s very impressive vocals! ❤️❤️
Nobody can convince me to hate this song it’s amazing. It’s so incredibly dumb it makes me smile
It’s not a song I ever seek out but every time I hear it I have to admit that it’s actually super fun
When we saw NMIXX on their showcase tour they had the audience divide into three parts and sing this with them like a round. It was amazing.
