Every update about this situation makes less sense. Some comments have been skeptical about this from the beginning, but I thought thereās no way an agency would actually use a situation like this as a tactic.
The fact that this whole thing could actually be a marketing stunt is baffling. Even if it succeeds in getting more eyes on this performance or comeback, it feels like the kind of thing you canāt do without burning some bridges and splitting their fandom.
I still think itās not a stunt but Iām getting less confident in that idea with each update. Iād also be surprised if she actually performs then.

I work in marketing and I donāt think itās marketing. Iāve been consistently surprised by a lot of the conclusions people have been jumping to.
She went on a hiatus for her health/dissatisfaction with how she was being treated, and there was likely some back and forth about what conditions needed to be met for her to want to move forward with the group. And yeah, in her shoes I would absolutely play my hand by showing the company how much turmoil it would create if I left the group by unfollowing/etc. Use the power where you have it.
HYBE/Geffen wants her in this group. They went out of their way to add her to Dream Academy. They allowed absences during training where other girls got cut showing up every day (this isnāt hate, itās just the reality of what happened.) They made her the center of the DA teaser video/trailer. If she isnāt in the new MV, yeah if they filmed it when she was on hiatus how would she be in it?
