I've noticed that recently I've been listening to NEWJEANS again, every single day. If not one of their songs, then I listen to covers done individually by the members.
My personal favourite is definitely "Hurt" and Hanni's cover of "Clementine" by grentperez.
I have been a fan ever since they debuted. But, I got detached from k-pop itself around 2024 after they announced their indefinite hiatus. I was really sad, you could only imagine how devastated I was when i got the news of Dani's departure from the group.
Their concept and music was so fresh that no other group has resonated with me as much. I literally know almost all of the songs word-for-word, as well as choreos. (Though, I don't look as good doing the choreos.)
I sometimes find myself combing through old photos, music videos, behind-the-scenes, "Making Jeans", etc. And then i tear up realising they're really not coming back. Well, definitely not soon.
They had the potential to become THE girl group worldwide.
I know I'm not the only bunny grieving the future they could've had.
