I went to see NMIXX in Irving as an extremely casual listener, so I figured I’d share my experience.
For context, I don’t really follow the group and definitely wouldn’t consider myself an NSWER. I’m actually an ONCE, and wanted to support this JYPe sister group, so I picked up some last minute tickets in the 100s.
Before the concert, the only songs I really knew were “Love Me Like This” and “Blue Valentine,” so I went in pretty blind when it comes to their discography.
My initial takeaway is that they’re very entertaining and can definitely sing. Like, the vocals really stood out live. I don’t really know if they have official roles or anything, but certain members immediately caught my attention:
Lily's vocals are insane, and her personality just bursts through on stage.
Sullyoon might have some of the craziest visuals I’ve ever seen in K-pop, she legit looks like a doll.
Bae had this aura that just demands your attention.
If I had to pick a bias just from this one concert, it’d probably be between Sullyoon and Lily, with Bae as a very close second.
I also recognized Haewon from her memes (wemo check, ugh! stress, and that one pitchy clip lol), which was fun seeing her in person.
Please don’t come for me, but I still can’t confidently tell Jiwoo and Kyujin apart yet 😭 I’ll get there eventually.
Overall, I’m really glad I decided to go. It was a super fun show and definitely made me want to check out more of their music.

So nice of you to come support even though you’re not a dedicated fan—you definitely chose one of the right groups!
As an NSWER, even I was blown away by how pretty Sullyoon is in person. Witnessing her on stage in person was such a treat.
And thinking back to my initial days getting into the group, totally get mixing Jiwoo and Kyujin up. Hopefully this galvanizes you to get more into the group, they’re just so wonderful in every aspect!!

Your observations about personality and aura–yes, the members you mentioned and, really, their bandmates as well, all have remarkable stage presence. The expressions and the evident passion–it’s all so captivating.
For me, Lily is the best singer in all of kpop. Like you said, it’s just insane how good she is.

I’m a new fan too. I heard some of their music but didn’t really dive deep. They are also a younger group than me and so I feel a bit old with listening to some of the newer groups music. However, I started to really listen to them this year where I stumbled upon a video which made me want to listen to their discography. I was wowed by how talented they are as well as funny. And was really lucky they were touring and had a stop in my country. Definitely can say I am a fan for sure.

I personally never understood why people struggle with this, but you are far from the only one, so don’t worry!
I love the pun you added to your title lmao. I also went to one of their shows kind of on a whim too and snagged tickets the day before the concert and it was amazing.
Don’t worry about not being able to tell kyujin and jiwoo apart yet. I’m pretty sure most new NSWERS mix them up at least once

Fellow ONCE here too! Glad you had a great time, sometimes going to events on a whim is one of the best experiences you can do and NMIXX is a solid choice to do this.
And mixing up Kyujin and Jiwoo is almost a rite of passage that new NSWERS go through, so don’t worry haha. Even Lily herself called Jiwoo as Kyujin on stage one time 😆
