  1. I feel like every day I’m saying “this is my new favorite OT7 picture”

what a great cover – and title!

    > They’ll tour the world until next March, after Jin pushed to extend the itinerary by roughly eight months longer than they planned.

    Well thank you Seokjinnie!

    > gave Suga a different idea. “Time is moving so fast, and trends change so quickly,”

I know it’s basically their job to be on the pulse but they’ve come outwith things that everyone was not going and that’s been a part of their USP. With Arirang being the latest example of that so I hope for their music and other content they don’t get bogged down in trying to predict and chase trends.

  3. That may have been the best article/interview this entire era. They’re all so insightful, and I really appreciated the way the writer framed the whole piece. And I love that each one of them got their moment to say their piece and shine.

The outfits. The stylists keep serving this comeback. Also, puppy pile bangtan.

  5. This is a great piece, very insightful. My main takeaway is that they remain super humble.

Also, the album-making process is clearer here that in in the documentary, imo.

Fascinating to learn that RM had to intervene and make HYBE let JK sing the explicit version of Seven.

  7. This is the sexy mature Bangtan I’ve been waiting for. They look better than ever somehow. I love the leather jackets, the hair, outfits. The aura!

  8. I am going to appreciate my bias Jin and Rm here.. they both look soooo good!! 💜💜💜💜

I am so happy Jin did solo tour that his growth has been exponentially and it’s shining everywhere!!

The part about the producer changing drum patterns in hooligan based on how the members were dancing to it was so cool, it’s so fascinating to hear more about how this album was created

I love unexpected magazine covers! Jinkook on the cover is adorable. 🥺 And the accompanying story, written by the same journalist who did their last RS cover, is pretty insightful. I especially liked the Namjoon bits at the beginning.

Oh so many revelations in this article, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. And it’s sure to spark a LOT of discussion 😆 I can already see it. While they’ve always been sincere and honest, I think this is the most direct the boys have been on so many topics, from their work process, to haters, to personal feelings and points of conflict. If the GQ article was about re-introducing the group BTS, this felt like re-introducing each of the members and their voices within the group.

The interviews alone would’ve been great, but I love it when a journalist (*especially one that has interviewed them before*) takes the opportunity to provide context, revisit old points made, and gather additional research. Hats off to Brian Hiatt 👏👏

    – The very first line got a chuckle from me. *”When RM is going through an existential crisis, which is pretty often…”*, is an endearing way to start an article.
    – Whenever journalists start listing out BTS’ accomplishments, contextualizing their place in society and the culture, a big part of me swells with pride, but I also get so terrified for them every time. The pressure is so immense!!
    – Joon advocating for JK to be able to sing explicit lyrics, OF COURSE. I love the sense of humor in quoting the lyrics of Seven, then immediately continuing with how JK COOKED for his military mates, seven days a week 😆 Also, after that one variety show appearance, Jin got labelled a “Dynamite” hater by so many. Turns out he was the one who found nothing wrong with it the whole time aww.
    – I’ve been saying that ARIRANG has been so eye-opening in how, in every single thing, it’s so obvious the members are determined, more than ever, to keep going strong. And so many parts of this interview reflected that. Jimin wanting to release another album immediately hahah. Even the initial tour being so short feels like they wanted to make more music first perhaps.
    – Hearing from the producers, their perspectives on each of the members, wow I could have read that if it went on forever. I love that PDOGG was included too. The Yoongi bit KILLED me 😆 of course he was an enigma, and I’m sure he didn’t even mean to be. The part from El Guincho, about the dance and movements *influencing* his producing, the beats he picked, was so interesting!

Finally, *of course* Kim Seokjin just casually drops one of my favorite quotes ever while being his positive, honest self:

    >***”There’s more to life than just the present. There’s the future”***

I walked away from this article so proud, hopeful and excited!

  12. What a great article. I love the bit about producers being surprised at how different working with BTS was, but also very impressed just how involved they were and how every single member had a different approach to creating music. Hobi switching from the sunshine personality to serious in the studio, Yoongi not saying anything during the sessions lol reminds me when IU said he’d only give a thumbs up to show he approves 🤣, Jungkook just so talented and quick in coming up with ideas.

I know it puts a lot of pressure and stress on BTS to keep making music that will be successful and well-received, but I also wish for their curiosity to never stop and for them to keep challenging what it means to be BTS. Namjoon talked about finding what BTS means now, and as we’re seeing with Arirang, they’re trying new things and pushing for a different direction than what we’re used to. It’s that drive, that curiosity, to figure out what’s next for BTS that keeps them from settling for “safe”. They’re creating a lot of conversation because they refuse to keep doing the same things they’ve done before, they refuse to be put in a box and to play the role we expect them to do.

The part about just enjoying themselves, and how special it is that they got back together, is a sentiment I’ve been having since the world tour started. I know people want to see choreographies and polished performances, but I also think about the tour being a display of BTS’s happiness and just enjoying being together and celebrating with the fans. This tour, this album…BTS risked a lot and compromised many things to do this. They fought for this and for each other. And now we know as well that Jin fought for us, the fans, to see BTS in as many places as possible. I respect the boundaries they’re setting when it comes to being idols and prioritizing their health and wellbeing while still giving us the performance spectacle that BTS are known for.

Interesting article. It hints a little about possible future direction (Jimin suggesting a new album , Suga thinking singles or mini-album), so definitely will keep getting new material. I also appreciated hearing Jin’s thoughts on all the songs being written before he arrived. He doesn’t seem to bear any hard feelings, and acknowledges it was a pragmatic choice.
