Duoteen (23/78): Jeonghan & Seungkwan


Welcome to the Weekly Duoteen activity aka the 78 pairs of Seventeen Challenge.

Hello Carats! Happy Sunday! I'm back, sorry for skipping a week. I hope everyone had a great week!

For this week, there was no way around it. It had to be a Jeonghan pairing ❤️ and after going back and forth for long time to pick, I finally settled on:

Jeonghan and Seungkwan

The only rules are:

2. Try to keep the discussion focused on the specific pairing.

Aside from that you are welcome to share or ask anything (according to the sub's rules please be mindful of not adding content behind paywalls like nana tour clips or screenshots for instance to avoid violating the anti-piracy rule, it's always a shame to see your thoughtful contributions removed).

The goal of this challenge is to show appreciation and to celebrate each pairing. Even if you can't think of anything, please feel free to drop a pretty picture of the pairing or ask about something you want to know.

Extra : I was going to go the opposite route of Jun's and do Jeonghan's most underrated pairing at first but it didn't quite work out for this round. And I started thinking about what other pairing to post and it was tricky because of the rest of the posts for this round. I realized I was thinking too hard about it when there will be many more posts even while he's enlisted and it'll be great to look forward to them as well. Same for Junnie!

    OMG FAV SERIES IS BACK!!!!

    Edit:

    Favorite Jeonghan and Seungkwan Moments:

    1. Seungkwan was the first to approach Jeonghan during their trainee days, helping him feel more at ease within the group.
    2. When Seungkwan discovered that Jeonghan and DK had lost his ball but acted like they were clueless 😂
    3. Seungkwan said he would choose Jeonghan if he were to start a new subunit, then complimented him by calling him pretty and mentioning how they’re like a married couple (since they live together).
    4. During a live interview, Seungkwan called Jeonghan cause he was looking tired and said “Vitamin Boo, power up Boo” to lift his spirits.🧡
    5. When Jeonghan hesitated to hit a high note, Seungkwan encouraged him, saying, “See, you can do it! Why did you hesitate?”
    6. During a live after caratland, Seungkwan trying to check if Jeonghan’s hair really tasted like mint😭😭

    They have a very sibling-like relationship to me. The way Jeonghan seems to adore and tease Seungkwan in equal measure and the way Seungkwan always seem annoyed by Jeonghan but also seeks his attention and company.

    I always thought Jeonghan and Seungkwan were pretty similar. They’re both great storytellers. Their lives are always full of very random and funny stories. Either all the funny things happen to them or they’re just more willing to share that kind of thing. They are great at imitating others and just the pacing and everything makes their storytime so fun. And of course when you put the two of them together you get iconic lives who gave birth to more than one iconic meme.

    Very early on, I remember thinking it was great how they both seem comfortable taking the lead for discussions or activities during Seventeen content. How they always made things more interesting with jokes (Seungkwan) or random questions/suggestions (Jeonghan), how they’d always make sure to get everyone to participate, and how they always seem very much focused on making sure they’d get great content. They always seemed very professional to me. And skilled as MCs, especially Seungkwan.

    3 when they went to a kindergarten together.

    They seem to be one of the pairing that got along from the start and that still spend a lot of time together.

    During Joshua and Jeonghan’s [pre-debut film](https://youtu.be/v4PfkyF_lQI?si=X67yBZdJYe37eorW) there’s a part where Jeonghan mentions how he gets close with people who approach him first and that Seungkwan approached him first with jokes and they got close.

    Also from this rolling paper from Seungkwan to Jeonghan: *”Jeonghan-hyung, it was really tough during our Asia Tour. We shared the same room, and whenever you would say ‘bring me food’ with aegyo, I really wanted to disobey you. Do you remember when you facing tough times and was about to quit, I stopped you? Dont foget it, even you die, dont forget it. I love you.”* We can see how Seungkwan was one of the reasons Jeonghan stuck with the harsh training.

    Things they’ve said about/to each other in the past:

    **Seungkwan about Jeonghan :**

    – “He does have an unexpected childish side to him, but he’s very good at caring for others and is always thinking of other people. He is a very good older brother to us. He also loves sleeping (laughs)” (Seungkwan)

    Q. :What is something you want from another member?

    -” I want Jeonghan-hyung’s calm heart! I’m someone who has many useless problems, and I end up worrying about them, so I want to have a strong heart like Jeonghan-hyung.”

    ” An honest person. An affectionate person. A person who thinks sleep is important. A person who likes people. A person who has no clue on what he’d be doing if he wasn’t in seventeen. A person whom [I wish] to smile even more in the future. A person who thinks that he’s old now that he is 25 but even if he feels discouraged, life is long anyway so [i hope] he’ll work harder now.     **Jeonghan about/to Seungkwan:**

    “Seungkwan, the messages above are all nice, so I went to write something that will make you laugh but when writing this kind of thing, only good things come to my mind. Even though I prank you and cause trouble, you put up with me; my baby son, thank you.” *I tried to double check about the baby son but I couldn’t find the original haha*

    “He’s always thinking about Seventeen before himself. He’s a reliable member, as well as my cute little brother.” (Jeonghan)

    Q. What is Seungkwan existence for Jeonghan? What kind friend Seungkwan is for you?

    ” I do like him a lot and he is like my real lil brother. ”

    “To Seungkwan who is working hard on taking care of himself, yesterday since you were hungry, I heard you didn’t sleep until 7am ㅠㅠ I’m really upset. [starting] now get more of my chicken & also, these days, seeing you becoming a lot brighter makes me feel good. Even if you have lots of worries, a lot of hardships, it would be nice if you gain strength. I will be cheering on you from wherever I am. I love you bbubbu!!<3<3”

    When Jeonghan had the whole nickname thing going on Seungkwan was “Jeonghan’s cutie”.

    Random things I want to add :

    When Seungkwan came to weverse sharing how he had a dream in which he fought with Jeonghan and when he told Jeonghan about it Jeonghan asked him of he had something he was upset about? And it devolved into the funniest nonsensical drama featuring the other members. The translation might not be totally accurate but you get the gist lol. Ended with a picture of Seungkwan in Jeonghan’s massage chair in his pajamas at Jeonghan’s house the next day.

    Yoon & Boo bros is what kcarats call them and they say it’s because they look alike. “In the face of Seungkwan, you can kind of see Jeonghan’s face.”
