  1. The Super Shy era was so exciting and so amazing, seeing like a full on album get released. But Bubblegum is my favorite song, I remember taking walks and listening to it on repeat on Youtube because the song wasn’t on spotify yet haha.

  2. The Attention / Hype Boy era is my favorite but my favorite songs are Bubble Gum and Super Shy (and Right Now). The first era is just very nostalgic for me, and it was crazy to see them come out of nowhere and end up everywhere.

  3. In terms of music: Ditto, followed by Supernatural

For styling: ETA. I absolutely loved the fits in #9.

Definitely 13/14 type, their baggy clothes and hip hop fashion phase is my favorite.

  5. I love how they make the MV (if you watched their Making Jeans) and choreography for Bubble Gum. The choreography really amaze me like how they made a choreo like that look so natural and not messy. I also love every outfits for their Bubble gum performances, the casual comfy fits make it looks like they are really just having fun, and the live band ver. from KGMA is just so good.

Ditto! It is fascinating how these girls can capture your attention, just with their effortless charm. They are girls having fun together, in a simple school uniform. The music video is something different! It is so great in its aesthetic alone.

I recently saw the making of, of the scene, where the girls run down the hallway. I thought this is probably the best music video scenes I have ever seen. It is them, being natural. This is the key of their success in my opinion.

In addition to this comes the deep meaning the music video and lyrics convey. When Ban Heesoo smashes his camcorder I think the time will come, when I have to smash my own „camcorder”and focus on things wich are more important in life then NewJeans. It is like the need, that you have to let go your first love. But for now I am free to enjoy their music and I will always look back to this great time when I had this freedom. The song is about having a great childhood. This is something I didn’t expect and I am so amazed finding such deep storytelling in a „random” music video.

Finally the music! It is pure amazing! The lines are well distributed and it’s save to say that their vocals are really good! Haerins low vocal registers get me every time. Danielle’s rich and smooth voice, fits so well with the simple but always interesting beat.

The song feels like sitting on a bench, at your former school yard remembering all the good things that happened here once. I have not experienced something like this in the context of K-pop!

    This group is something different!

Really enjoyed their debut era but I was a little late to that because I first got more interested during Ditto. However, Get Up era was really fun in my opinion because all of the promotions and a lot of people overall really liked the aesthetics during that era.

All the hype, achievements, and music made that era quite unforgettable. I just think summer of 2023 was overall a fun era for kpop.

  8. ALLL OF THEM but attention and ditto and bubblegum BUT ALL OF THEM FORREAL THEY’RE ALWAYS PERFECT 🥹

  9. Those first 4 photos will always hold an extremely special place in my heart. Forever and always a Newjeans girl. They literally came into my life and changed it completely; I was battling depression after a personal adversity and their music & whole vibe gave me something positive to focus on/ look forward to/ enjoy. Will always love them and be grateful they debuted!

Oh, and my favourite songs are probably Hype Boy, Super Shy (the original version tho 😅), Get up, and Supernatural!

  10. Aesthetically my favorites are Ditto and Supernatural. I’m in LOVE with the cyberpunk/big glowing city aesthetic of supernatural, and Ditto’s aesthetic of this camcorder nostalgia thing is really great to someone like me who is really into film and hoping to go into film one day (They’re also just my top 2 songs from them in general). I think the most exciting era for me was the bubblegum/how sweet era since, by that time itd been almost a year since their last release with the get up EP. Bubblegum’s aesthetic was also really appealing to me for similar reasons to Ditto. I also tend to lump bubblegum/how sweet era with the right now/supernatural era since they were released super close to eachother and made it feel like a mini album dropped lol

  11. Favorite Era:

Ditto. I mean c’mon.. we as a fandom have something called Ditto season solely because of that song! Enough said. If that’s not impact I don’t know what is. But I guess to add a bit of reasoning, it’s just the whole nature, vibe, and lore of the Ditto story. It’s just so poignant. Regardless of age or gender you can relate to it on some level. It’s beautiful and haunting at the same time. The song itself can instantly put you into a certain mood. One of melancholy, of nostalgia. The choreography is also super fun to watch and dance to yourself as well. On a whole, Ditto sits at the top of their body of work so far in terms of creativity in my opinion.

    Favorite Song:

With all that said, Bubblegum is my favorite song. It just makes me smile & feel warm inside every time. When those first few notes play in the opening melody before Hanni begins singing, it sounds weird but I feel like I’m going to a place where I know I’m safe. As the song goes along it feels like any troubles are fading away and only the promise of happiness waits in front of you.

  12. Bubblegum/How Sweet era just cuz both of those songs are like my favourite. I like the summer vibes in music so Bubblegum/How Sweet era just works out for me. But a second would definitely be ditto era

  13. My favourite era is Supernatural. Really love the Japanese biker gang-inspired outfit. And the white headband too!

  14. Ditto, not even a question.

The natural setting of a group of friends in high school, just doing what they do, felt amazing
The camcorder style and Ban Heesoo Youtube channel also adds a lot more depth into the, so-called, “Lore”

It adds a sense of “Oh, I relate to those!” to the music videos itself. Looking at the footages felt like I was reminded of my own high school days. Felt like they were my closest friends all along

  15. For me it’s still Attention. My partner and I were fortunate enough to discover NewJeans before they debuted, and that song was such a strong one. It totally blew me away.

  16. Attention

I love all their songs, but their debut is special. I remember how surprised I was to see an MV for a new Hybe girl group due to the lack of teasers, but after finishing the video, I was hooked. And so was everyone else. From then, their popularity continued to climb to what it is now. Attention started everything.

  17. OMG and Supernatural will forever hold a special place in my heart. OMG was the song that introduced me to NewJeans, and I instantly fell in love with them. Supernatural felt so surreal because I was in Tokyo for Bunnies Camp Tokyo Dome, and that whole event was a dream come true. I can’t wait for these girls to resume their activities 🩵🤍🩵🤍

  18. it’s so hard to choose a favorite but OMG really did it for me that song was on REPEAT(as many others of theirs ofc)

  19. School_Of_Four_Cats on

my friend put on NewJeans NewJeans (LUKISA NIUMI) and I was like this is a kpop song??? Get Up summer seemed so fun but the first comeback I experienced as a bunny was Bubble Gum/How Sweet + Right now/ Supernatural, so these hold a special place in my heart. Ditto/OMG literally blew me away. But as more time passes, their each EP and rollouts become something to look back to and think “this was such a good era” ??? idk if that makes sense

I’d say Ditto is my favorite. The song is so beautiful and captivating. It makes me feel really nostalgic as well. I started to seriously stan them from that era, though I had been listening and enjoyed their music from the beginning.

I’ve been in love with How Sweet too, but I think it’s because it came out right after I broke up of a long-term toxic relationship and the song captured exactly what I was feeling. The timing was just so perfect and it helped me a lot.

I like how Newjeans has such a unique sound that they keep, but still manage to innovate everytime.

  21. SignificantEqual7893 on

Ditto is probably my favourite song, but I really like OMG, Right Now, Supernatural, Bubblegum. There’s not a single song I didn’t like though, all of their songs are great. Even that one McDonald’s ad was a banger lol.

  22. Agreeable_Raisin2184 on

Hype Boy is my absolute favorite. It just broke away from the norm of kpop. It just seemed to be a reprieve as oppose to the rest of kpop. The first era is by far the best.

  23. grl_frm_Hardfuckland on

Ditto is a real masterpiece for me. I thought that they are typical overhyped k-pop group but the video and song itself was breath of fresh air🤔😳
