    As someone that actively watches the oscars, this massively confuses me a bit, I don’t think I’ve seen someone do a performance that isn’t related to 1. a song that’s nominated or 2. being related to a film that is.

    It’s very evident, that this is a means to push numbers.

    This isn’t me saying it’s a bad thing at all that they’re performing, but it’s not common for non nominated songs / actors to not perform.

    Raye will carry this because she’s an incredible vocalist and is featured a lot throughout the song. Doja and Lisa just need to kill their verses and let mother take the lead for the chorus vocals.

    It’s so easy to clock solo stans in this fandom. A single google search will tell you that you can perform at the Oscar’s even if you’re not nominated.

    I would love to be happy about this.. but sadly I can tell what sort of lies will be spread on Lisa’s back, as usual.

    But I really am so proud of her and this opportunity. 😭

    That said, I really wonder what sort of performance we will get from them. The song is catchy enough to have a choreography, but there’s also too many vocal parts to really allow the girls to dance throughout the whole song. I’m sure they won’t just be standing around doing nothing but singing, but I’m really curious about whatever artistic direction they’ll take to really give life to that song in live.

    I think The Academy realized that two lackluster performances of songs from Emilia Perez would absolutely tank their viewership long before Karla Sofía Gascón’s past statements came to light. The Academy already said a month ago that they would not have performances of the nominated songs for this year’s ceremony.

    There’s been performances of non-nominated music in the past, usually to honor someone specific or as a group like the In Memoriam segment. It will be interesting to see how The Academy ties in performances to movie-making this year.

    Well if it takes performing at the Oscars to finally get a Born Again live performance then so be it!

    All three ladies gonna kill or for sure. This just makes my decision to watch the oscars a whole lot more easier. Was only gonna watch it for Demi winning best actress but now I have more to look forward to

    Good for Lisa even tho music perfomances(unless they are ballad ost’s) at film/drama award shows are weird, It will be interesting
