Sorry for the bad image, so I wanted to collect the bear pcs and got these today. Was wondering how can you tell if it's real or fake since I might be worried that I got scammed
1. comparing them with known official cards to make sure physical attributes like sizing and shape is a good first step.
2. not 100% but album cards with the little tear notches on the top and bottom are a strong (but not perfect) indicator of authenticity
3. image quality/centering/cropping. Most fake cards still fall short of the image quality of the official cards, and while the image centering on cards isnt 100% always perfect if a card has an extremely poorly centered/cropped image from most other official copies of that card then its a bad sign usually
4. album cards, even ones that are slightly higher in demand, are not huge targets for counterfeiting. Its not unheard of, but the danger of running into fakes still climbs much higher (tho in the grand scheme still not that high) once you start getting into buying rarer cards or even signed photos.
