Instrumental is *really* fantastic. I think one aspect that separates Jennie’s rollout so far is the instrumental production has been interesting throughout. This one doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, but it hits hard.
I think the choreo fits the song well, too.
On the other hand, the lyrics felt very undercooked and repetitive. For such a short song length (2:03), it really sticks out. I think it needed a little more juice to really go somewhere.
I can see why she’s choosing to push this one since the performance emphasizes the song. It feels like it could do well in Korea, too.

This song stands out much more when paired with a visual performance. I can see now why she chose it as the title track, the choreography is intense and dynamic. The music video was well-executed, and making it essentially as a performance video was a smart move, there’s a lot of replay value. I really enjoyed this.
