People won’t care and they won’t apologize for spreading lies. They just wanted to hate on Lisa.

  2. bestlife-2021 on

Honestly for Lisa any publicity is good cause she does nothing wrong. In the end it will all serve her

  3. Lisa hate train is getting out of hand. I’m glad the brand made a statement to clarify this topic.

People saying Lisa should’ve do something about it as if she was the one picking up her outfit.
Celebrities say they collaborate with the brand but we know they don’t have a say on what they’re gonna wear. It’s the brand’s decision, since the celebrities job is only to showcase what was envisioned by the team.

If her team, a team composed by people who’s part of the Black community, is saying she’s fine wearing this, then Lisa will trust.

Now, I don’t know how is the law in U.S., but in Brazil act of racism is a crime. You can get in jail for this. People accusing her of something so serious like it’s nothing is beyond me.

    Edit: typos.

  4. Just noticed or maybe I didn’t read some tweets defending her specially Thai people, or im just in the other side of twitter, because if a celebrity representing my country would get a hate train like this the people of my nation will go definitely go hard defending her . even if that person is not that famous like Lisa. Wish she has more fans defending her because all this force hate train is tiring.

Days since dumb controversy against BP members: 1

Getting close to a new record

  6. My biggest problem with this whole thing is they’re dragging Lisa. The celebrity. Like she chose this and made this outfit and specifically went put Rosa Parks on my panties.

How about we drag the designer instead?

Glad they said something. Though I doubt it’s going to do much. They just want to hate and don’t care.

  8. Are we even surprised by that point ?

Mind you now, instead of apologizing, most of the people who shamed her are now backtracking and changing the narrative to make it seems like the issue is the fact that there are faces embroidered on the crotch area — which is not only idiotic as faces are *all over* the body suit (and, just like a repetitive pattern, the bottom obviously has faces too), but also a stylistic choice made by the creator himself, and not Lisa. They are always trying to paint her as some kind of villain, instead of owning their pitiful mistakes and apologizing for the disgusting hatred they showcased.

Whatever outfit she would’ve worn, those useless human beings would have found a way to make it problematic, I can guarantee you that. Had there not been those faces embroidered in the outfit, their focus would’ve been on her lack of pants and they would’ve slut shamed her to hell and back instead. And if she had pants on, then they would’ve nitpicked every details of her look and claimed all of the reasons under the sun to say that she wasn’t on theme.

    Lisa simply can’t ever win.

  9. I was keeping my mouth shut on this topic until more concrete evidence came out, and now that it has, I’m enraged but not surprised how big of a thing this has gotten.

What’s even worse is that even after proof has come out disputing this nonsense, people are still not willing to admit their fault.

“Well it’s a terrible outfit anyways”. Does wearing a bad outfit really justify this level of hate? Kpop idols are notorious for wearing atrocious outfits, have any of them received this much backlash?

This performative activism is why I can never take Kpop fans seriously. Nobody cares about the actual subject matter anymore. It’s all about spreading any kind of false narrative to start a hate campaign against an idol. And then turn a blind eye and move on quietly once evidence comes out that disproves their narratives.

  10. I just commented on another subreddit’s post, so I’ll just copy and paste what I wrote there.

I get if someone doesn’t like the outfit as a whole, opinions exist for a reason.

However, the original posts spread so quickly that even major media outlets had articles come out about the backlash ([People](https://people.com/met-gala-2025-did-louis-vuitton-embroider-rosa-parks-on-lisa-underwear-11728828), [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14681827/amp/met-gala-2025-lisa-blackpink-rosa-parks.html), [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025/05/06/white-lotus-star-criticised-over-distasteful-rosa-parks/), even [foreign Vanity Fair](https://www.vanityfair.it/article/lisa-blackpink-met-gala-2025-slip-rosa-parks-look-foto)).

Now, even with the truth out there, there’s a big chance that those same outlets won’t update their readers and, even if they do, new articles wouldn’t have the same resonance as the previous ones, simply because they’re not as scandalous.

What baffles me is that an outfit that could at worst be considered questionable was made out to be a major offence not only to a core historical figure, but to a whole community.

I could bet that most of those people criticising the outfit do not know the inspiration behind it.

Henry Taylor is a painter with an enormous output of portraits, which mostly feature anonymous people part of the black community, from friends and family to strangers to even patients of his, as he also worked as in a mental hospital.
Other than that, he is also known for having collaborated with Pharrell Williams in his [debut show](https://www.artnews.com/art-news/news/pharrell-debut-collection-louis-vuitton-henry-taylor-1234672134/) for Louis Vuitton in 2023: similarly to Lisa’s outfit, there were pieces in that collection that featured embroideries based on Henry Taylor’s paintings. There are even photos of [Henry Taylor himself](https://files.ocula.com/anzax/Content/News/2023/06.%20June/Henry%20Taylor%20Louis%20Vuitton/HENRYTAYLOR.jpg) wearing pieces of that collection.

A whole entire bodysuit, which paid homage to a black artist who approved of his work being translated into fashion as well, paired with a blazer with the same exact design, was distorted so much by negative biases online that the image of it is of an underwear piece mocking black community, ignoring the embroideries being present across the whole outfit.

In the end, my point is that yes, you can absolutely not like how she was dressed but no, you can not use it to accuse her of racism or disrespect of black history.

I know that you guys like me are tired of all the hate that Lisa gets but this was on another level.

Watching the video of the fitting, I can see how it was positioned as an important historical piece for Lisa by Pharrell but I do think Pharrell should have made a video explaining it after the backlash and not let Lisa get dragged. Some of the comments I read were disgusting.

Unfortunately, todays social media is all about attacking people and kpop is one of the worst offenders. We’ve seen it on this sub multiple times.

Wow. So people made up the whole controversy…. Disgusting.

It speaks so much to how the public feels it owns women’s bodies that the very idea of this work of art within fashion that every part of it was fine, unless it touched her body and in a place they feel that they own/ or is inappropriate just existing, **the very idea that clothes are inappropriate when they touch a woman’s body can be disturbing in itself** … there’s a lot to be said about that but the people that don’t want to confront that won’t.

Like we should really break down and think what are we saying when we can say that this art can be on her stomach, it can be on her breast. It can cover and be on her legs, but it cannot go over her buttocks or mons pubis without being inherently inappropriate/ offensive/ dirty.

It inherently says more about what people think of women’s bodies. And not in a positive way.

All this ‘controversy’ to drive clicks and money in pockets to send women everywhere a message…

How many of us have bought Mickey Mouse underwear? Or pajamas. Is it inherently inappropriate? Absolutely not. Because it’s on a woman’s body? It feels like in the end that is the message people are trying to say. And I just fully disagree.
