Aside from how mind-blowing the immersive 8K experience is, I love how the architecture of the landscape and every interior space cleverly mirror the members' personalities. So I thought it'd be fun to do a walk-through and break down the elements and nuances that reflect the members' aura!
Come with me as we tour SEVENTEEN's (or EIGHTEEN's? :p) castle!
1. JOSHUA: The Royal Vault
What an entrance! Vaulted ceiling, perfect symmetry of monumental gilded pillars. Fit for royalty indeed, and perfect for our Gentlemanly Prince Joshua. The sparkling golden river beckons Carats to sail through and dock. All that glitter is just like the twinkle in Joshua's eyes.
2. JUN: The Crystal Guardians
Dramatically perched, this impressive pair of guardians embodies the dualistic Gemini spirit in our Moon Junhui. At once adorable, gentle, nurturing, yet also fierce, convicted, persuasive, he's a protector of all members and Carats passing through this passageway.
3. SEUNGKWAN: Stairway to Heaven
The romanticism of this grand stairway is impossible to miss β just like Seungkwan. One's spirit is lifted up these stairs, one step at a time, rising like the sparkles of light, guided by the candles. What an awe-inspiring sight as one hears Seungkwan's soaring crescendoes.
4. WONWOO: Rendezvous at the Glasshouse
Picnic mat and generous spread; verdant, voluminous greenery bathed in luminous sunlight. This must be what spring with Wonwoo feels like β crisp, hopeful, light, open, picture-perfect even in its unbridled state. It's a space with quiet corners for intimate Sunday mornings and many a heart-to-heart. (No prizes for guessing whose chairs those two are! ππ)
5. DK: Salon at the Conservatory
Filled immediately not just with light and floral fragrance, this music lounge is a canvas for DK's pitch-perfect voice and his musical accompaniments, of all sorts. Comfortable and welcoming like his aura, that green sofa invites every Carat to rest their weary soul and seek solace in music.
6. VERNON: A Room with a Voice
No pretensions and no airs β just a straightforward, grounded, and very real space for a very real Vernon. It's homely and private, made just for him and his music. Like the nonchalant (and freaking adorable) cat who clearly lords over this space, this is one room with a distinct, confident, self-assured voice.
7. HOSHI: Daredevil's Corridor
The more laser barriers, the better, Hoshi says, as he glides and crawls and pounces through this blood-red corridor undaunted, with swift ease and unbelievable glee. This isn't any danger; it's only the tiger's playground.
8. DINO: The Glass Labyrinth
Look through Dino's prism, or better still, a kaleidoscope. See who stares right back at you β is it the ever-colourful Pi Cheolin or good old Lee Chan smiling earnestly and dancing like a pro? Let this glass labyrinth refract Dino's multifaceted talents.
9. WOOZI: Field of Hope
Out of a sudden, pitch darkness. Yet, just like the Universe (Factory), vastness is invisible to the naked eye… till spot by spot, spark by spark, you hear and feel that Woozi feeling just washing over you and gushing through, keeping you warm and safe even in the darkest night.
10. JEONGHAN: The Rabbit's Hollow
Magical, playful, angelic… Just a dash of light is all you need to find your way back home. That's the way our iron-deficient Jeonghan lights up every single room, every single scene β not in loud, blinding explosions, but in soft, gentle glow.
11. THE8: Diamantine Portal
Brilliant like a diamond, shining in a burst of refracted colours, yet structured, consistent, symmetrical, governed by the million patterned cuts, each cut adding to the light. That's our Minghao, the gentle, tea-loving artistic soul who dances with powerful rhythms and pulls others into his orbit.
12. MINGYU: The Dance Club
Grand and even cavernous, it's an open hall that invites all to dance along, let our hair down, and just have fun. There are no barriers and no walls, just an open space, an open canvas full of creative potential β precisely like our ever-positive Mingyu with his big, big heart and Golden Retriever energy.
13. S.COUPS: Hall of Terror
It's somewhat symbolic for leader-nim's space to be filled with many hands pulling him in all the different directions. Perhaps it's the pressure, the stress, but also the sense of responsibility that he never, ever takes lightly. Yet through it all, there is resilience, there is courage, and ultimately, it's a passageway that leads to the light and the fiery, thundery BURSTDAY PARTY (that will continue forever!).
