I cried, listening to Fate for the first time. Woozi’s voice just does something to me. It felt like he purposely sang with different colors in his voice than usual to give the song an ethereal quality. It makes me feel like I’m floating off of the ground when I listen to it.

I was thinking to myself yesterday, “I’d listen to this (album) even if it wasn’t Seventeen”. As a longtime kpop fan, I think that says quite a lot, given how affection for an artist can be a factor in how you enjoy the music. They really knocked this entire album out of the park. Watching the listening party gave me even more appreciation for each song and the meaning behind them.

  2. The songs I liked haven’t changed much from the first time I heard them. Skyfall definitely felt like an eargasm the first time I heard it. And you just feel something in the gut with Jungle. I think I was surprised by how much I liked Coincidence because Jeonghan’s voice wasn’t something I paid much attention to before but he sounds so good here. Fortunate Change puts a smile on my face and Gemini hits a different spot in the feels.

And I don’t know how to describe what Fate does to my soul. All in all, a damned successful album!

  3. I am still listening to the whole album.
Every song takes us with through rainbows and forests.
The diversity showed here makes it impossible to choose one.
    Vocal team delivered emotions.
    Performance team delievered moves.
    Hip hop team delievered ecstasy.

My favourites still haven’t changed, Woozi’s is still the top for me! I was an emotional wreck the first few days i listened to this song, everything about it from the lyrics to the melody made me cry. Would love to hear this live one day.

Other favourites for me are wonwoo’s because of how cute it is and how much it sounds like an anime ending, joshua’s because of how healing it is, Hoshi’s with that baseline and overall funky sound, and Dino’s because i love his vocals in this and I can imagine a great performance with it.

I think the ones that grew on me might have been seungkwan’s and especially jeonghan’s, I think I came to like them more the more I listened to them.

The only thing I probably will say I don’t really agree with is the tracklist order. I know they said it was ordered based on what they thought fit best but I questioned some of the order, like having scoups right after jeonghan, and dokyeom after mingyu. It just felt like a really big whiplash listening to them right after each other.

Topping my favorites is Destiny, next is Coincidence, Fortunate Change, Jungle, Raindrops, and last is Trigger. I see myself listening to these more. Also, I never expected Shining Star to grow on me as I’m usually not a fan of the genre. Vernon killed it! Basically, I love all of the songs, except maybe for Bad Influence because I crave for the explicit version so bad! TT

    >I think sonically this might be their best album yet.

It just SOUNDS good. Clean and layered production wise (idk how to explain it) – so have their other albums obviously but this one does it the best. This album will age very gracefully.

my favs are – damage, gemini, raindrops, trigger, shake it off and jungle.

but i could list all 13 solos tracks as my favs and it wouldn’t be wrong. its just that good, woozi said he arranged the tracks based on vibes and the vibes were rocking and fucking spot on.

I find myself bracing for jungle after coincidence and I love it, love the degree change.

this week however I am a gemini stan, GEMINI GEMINI GEMINI. Junhui’s voice rides the beat so well and its instrumental might be my favourite so far.

  7. a few rounds of listening and watching their first listening session has made me appreciate destiny a lot more. like, wow, something about woozi’s voice just touch your heart… his vocals, the lyrics, and the badass outro just somehow skyrocketed the song’s position as one of my favorite track.

my other favorite solo tracks are trigger and skyfall. the message behind trigger is really cool, and you can really tell how dino’s vocals have improved so much over the years. the pre-chorus? chef’s kiss. skyfall is totally my type, i really like the ‘freefall’ feel of the chorus.

some songs that grew on me is raindrops, fortunate change and gemini. special mention to coincidence because while i’m not a fan of ballads, i feel like jeonghan’s voice fits the song perfectly and he sounds beautiful there.

tbh i was a bit bummed how there’s no unit songs in this album, but after rounds of listening to the whole album, it’s really a perfect opportunity for them to show their individual charms via solo songs. feels like showing the world how they have improved individually yet they’re actually doing it for the group. great album.
