    when i was a baby carat, the first moment i saw of these two were the guitar incident and oh my god! i sometimes laugh about it to this day because although woozi may tease mingyu to no ends, i think mingyu is definitely one of woozi’s favorite people in the world (i mean, of course the entirety of seventeen but mingyu seems to have a special place in his heart iykyk)

    Okay so this is pretty trivial but it’s one of the first thing that I remember thinking about those two, how they’d happily and comfortably emphasize their height difference. How they never shy away from standing next to each other.

    I feel like with kpop groups, the norm is often to hide being not that tall. Like I’ve seen people overanalyze idols to figure out their real height based on who they’re standing next to over and over and it turn into trending posts on k-forums pretty quickly and of course it’s usually mocking and negative. And even in those posts unrelated to him, they’ll bring up Woozi to use as a benchmark. It’s not much different on the international side.

    Anyway even Seventeen is not excluded from this narrative, with insoles or not exactly accurate official heights but when it comes to Mingyu and Woozi, I feel like they’ve never really considered it a minus. Like they’d play off on how cute a lot as rookies but beyond that they’ve always been around each other pretty comfortably without being concerned about it. And like I said it’s not much at all. No different than regular people being friends with taller or shorter people but somehow when it comes to an environment like kpop when people can be extra harsh on idols for things like being too short, especially as men, I think it’s nice to see. Like the way they’d walk around holding hands, have choreo parts one after the other or stand next to each other in photo lineups.

    It reminds of that time the members where pushing Woozi towards the MC (Soobin I think) in a music show. It went viral a couple of times beyond caratland even. Seeing some of the other fans comments it was clear they had no idea how often Woozi stands next to Mingyu who’s just as tall. I dunno I’ll forever have a soft spot for those two together.

    2. i just love love loooove how they can instantly go from beefy manly refrigerator line to silly cuddly sweetiepies with each other 😭 they really bring out each others softness and cuteness… 🥹 (i wonder how the dynamics wouldve been different if mingyu was the hyung lolol) a friend of mine mentioned that having these two types of people (ie so physcially opposite from each other) probably wouldn’t really happen nowadays with kpop mostly producing groups that that all look like each other lol 🧍… so thank u for the star alignment that made gyuhoon possible 🙏🙏🙏
