I love comics and have read quite a few Webtoons, so I was excited for Lisa's AlterEgo. Honestly, this is the first piece of K-pop merch I’ve ever bought.

When the album was released, I thought the Fxck Up the World music video gave a great setup for the comic.

Here’s my review—spoilers ahead.

Story Summary
The story revolves around Vixi, a genius who claims she can fix anything. We get a glimpse into how she met each of the other characters—Roxi, Kiki, Sunni, and Speedi—mostly through her fixing something for them.

The main plot kicks off when some villains escape from a video game in an arcade and start chasing Vixi. While repairing the game machine, Vixi gets sucked into the virtual world and has to fight these villains. Things go well at first, but the villains respawn and gain the upper hand. Just in time, the other girls arrive, and together they defeat the enemies and save the day.

Review

Plot and Dialogue – ⭐⭐
Lisa is not a master of prose (yet), and it shows that this is like a complement to the album than a fully fleshed-out comic

We get a choppy narrative explaining how the girls met, and a pretty generic villain arc. The characters are hard to distinguish beyond their visual design.

The comic uses a lot of time jumps that are very on-the-nose (it is literally mentioned on the page): one moment you're in the “Present,” then “Past,” then back to “Present,” and then “After Some Time.” It’s a bit jarring.

Some of the dialogue doesn’t make much sense, and there are quite a few grammatical errors. There’s also some random tech terminology thrown in—clearly an attempt to build a cyberpunk vibe—but it doesn’t really serve the story.

I was a bit disappointed we didn't see Easter eggs from the FUTW music video (unless I have missed it) because that would be a really cool reference

Art – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The art is genuinely well done. The action scenes, especially, flow smoothly and look great.

Overall – ⭐⭐
As a standalone comic, it’s pretty forgettable. My biggest disappointment is that I didn’t learn anything new about the Alter Egos beyond what’s already known through the album promotions. Even their personalities aren’t really fleshed out.

That said, I appreciate Lisa’s effort. It’s clear this wasn’t ghostwritten—she put real work into it. And I respect her for stepping out of her comfort zone and doing something innovative

Thanks for the review! I was curious about it ♥️

Really that’s how they met? Hehe sounds cute actually 😅. I’ve seen some people talk about the dialogue why could it be a weak point they didn’t hired writer or is Lisa the writer?

I love what they did for Sunni, the cute vibe and all.
