For starters, BTS said that it's gonna be released in spring next year. The recording process will start in America because they're following Jin touring schedule and will accompany him to each stop. Suga mentioned that the new album is in a style they didn't try before, and Jungkook said that they're going back to the basics, though we don't know the specific context behind both of their comments.
Apparently, someone in the comments mentioned House of Cards while they were talking about the album, the conversation went like this:
🐯house of cards?
🐿wow house of cards..
🐹house of cards.. it’s been over 10 years right?
🐥that’s something i didn’t even expect to be brought up..
🐯it’s been a really long time right?
🐿is there anyone who knows house of cards?
🐨house of cards is famous
🐰but we didn’t perform it— oh wait wait

Now to the main point, I'm honestly both excited and kinda nervous. I'm excited bc yay, new group music next year! I'm anxious because, reason no.1, I can't for the life of me guess which genre will dominate the new album. Looking at the current trends, light pop and hip hop should be out of question. Not because they as genres are dead right now, but because they're not the sound most people seem to be seeking from bts right now.
Which brings me to reason no.2: House of Cards, BS&T, and Pied Piper are currently the most trending bts songs in Tiktok (most listened in my spotify as well along with Home lol), however from the conversation above none of them except namjoon even knew that HoC is super popular. Each of these three songs blend quite a variety of genres, but there's one genre in common between them: RnB. If bts ever drop an excellent RnB dominated album, I'm officially dying from joy and then reviving for the same reason.
These were my thoughts, what's about yours?

I honestly have no expectations or thoughts about their new album, I will probably be vibing to whatever they put out. I’m curious to see how it’ll turn out. The one thing I know is that I will be manifesting a minimoni song 🫶
House of Cards is one of my most favorite songs. It’s like with Louder than Bombs and a very few other songs, the intricacies of instruments, rhythm and voices just weaving a tapestry of **sound**
So I’d love to have more of that.
On the other hand, I’m absolutely and totally ready for Cypher V and throwing (rap)hands 😾
I’ll actually take anything at this point, I’m not fussy, I’ll just be happy with it being OT7! (I know this is not a very intelligent comment but I’m still feeling too overwhelmingly happy to actually have any constructive thoughts lol.)
I just want long rap verses again; more of their presence. Especially if they make more full English songs, the rapline were barely in those songs. A rnb heavy focused album would be amazing actually!
I hope they all have the freedom to do more by themselves, take what they learned from this period and print it on the album. Honestly, I do not mind the style, I want authenticity.
Seeing everything Suga did as a producer, he could do more for BTS now. I have read this somewhere, and totally agree.
And I am sure RM/Suga/JHope are hitching to sit down together and start writting. Give us that savage Cypher 5 💜
I have no care in the world but how adorable is this?
>they’re following Jin touring schedule and will accompany him to each stop.
I’m imagining jamming sessions and pyjama parties 🤣
I see a lot of people assuming this but just because they’re recording in America doesn’t mean their songs will be full English. Especially if they’ve said they’re going back to their roots, I’m thinking it’ll lean more dark and wild, hip hop.
I think by going back to the basics they meant going back to their roots in regards to the song-camps where they essentially lock themselves up and just brainstorm/write/jam until they have something to work with. It doesn’t even sound like they discussed what direction they want to go in which makes sense, it’s only been like two weeks since the last of them were discharged.
I’m expecting all the members to have a heavy hand in the writing/production process. They’ve talked about eventually wanting to release an album written/produced only by BTS; will this be that album? Probably not, but I can see it as being an important stepping stone to that goal.
What I have noticed, and what is getting me way too prematurely excited, is that in spite of them not having fully engaged in album talks yet, Joon has repeatedly said in each of the three lives after his discharge that their next album is going to be massive/amazing so you know they have very high expectations for themselves. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait until next spring lol.
Regarding House of Cards, it’s always amusing/sad that the members think there are no fans around from that period. I’m sure even a lot of newer fans know their old discography but judging from how they talk about it, they seem to think that newer fans only know their newer body of work.
They severely underestimate how obsessed we are lol.
tbh im not expecting anything because i want a blank slate and i’ve loved their ability to take me by surprise and honestly im just happy they are back
with that being said the album being completely new and different but also going back to the basics has me seated at the very edge of my seat and im so excited
they seem very excited and with 3 years of refreshed vision ik they are just as excited as we are to see what they come up with
Sorry did you say House of Cards came out TEN YEARS AGO????? I’m so old…….
RnB. Puuhleeease🤌🏻. Lots of it. And some jazz. With mucho Drama + sexy.🙈✨
I’m not like a super super big fan of BTS (yet👀) but I really enjoy their RnB songs and ballads ahhhh especially ones from their earlier albums. I think my favourite album of theirs is Skool Luv Affair which incorporates genres that I like into one, it’s perfect!
Looking forward to more songs like Just One Day, 134340, Ano Bashode, Hold Me Tight, and Home. I enjoy pop but not a big fan of Butter or Dynamite tbh. Please no more of that😅😭 Maybe a few would be okay for those who enjoy it. On anothet note, would love to hear them rap again (esp Suga😅😅❤️❤️)!!!!
Suga didnt say it was in a style they havent done before though. Auto translation is not getting the context. What he said was their traveling song camp is going to be something they havent done before. They dont have a genre or style even locked down at all yet. Jk said they are going back to the beginning like back to foundations and yoongi mentioned dark and wild bc it was made in the U.S. they are going to start this album from scratch and ensure that all 7 members participate and it reflects their thoughts.
I think we’re in a really exciting space where they have a complete blank canvas to create as they want to. We have had a complete mix of genres and showcases of different talents in chapter 2 it’s just finding a medium between it all now and how they bring it all as one for BTS. They have time to reflect too, I hope they can create with the level of control that want.
On a personal note I hope they don’t go down the route of tracks that are only 2 and a half minutes long but I can’t see that happening between giving each of the rap line a verse and lines/verses between the vocal line the songs will need to be longer in length.
Whatever the new album will be, WE ARE BACK AND WE ARE READY 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
THEY SHOULD RELEASED DDAENG FIRST 🙏🏻 ITS BEEN YEARS LIKE EVERYONES BEGGING
Edit: they should stop releasing anything this year coz I need money for next year’s tour 🤣🤣🤣
I’m hoping for a darker, tougher and maybe more rap-oriented album. I’m curious to see how their military era will influence their next release as a group because I’m sure it will in terms of sound and probably themes they’re going to explore in their next album. No idea if we’ll get solos, but I’m expecting two sub-unit songs, one them being a very impactful and angry rapline song (please!!).
I am also praying for a multi-part concept album, although I’m not sure this is what they’ll return with right away. But I really hope we’ll get a new LY or MOTS-type series sometime in the near-ish future.
Otherwise, I expect loads of litterature and psychology, as usual with BTS. And maybe some history to go with the military theme?
