THAT WAS GOOD! Love rock power ballads, I didn’t expect to get so emotional at 1am on a weekday but damn. This is a fantastic pre-release. She is an artiste in every sense of the word.

The way this came out within weeks of the start of my post-BPIL mild Wang Anyu obsession, I love being the target audience
I think out of her official solo tracks (i.e. after A Page), this might be my favourite so far. Not too sold on the delivery on the second verse but everything else is immaculate and more than makes up for it. I can’t believe it took her so long to delve into this genre, it suits her so perfectly!!

Banger, this is her sound and fits her voice so perfectly. Great acting also. And can i say as a man this guy is distractingly attractive…

Song was better than I expected, liked it on first listen. I think Yuqi is continuing to grow as a singer/songwriter so I’m looking forward to the title track and the other b-side on this album.
Also Anyu really dropped the ball and made the biggest fumble with Yuqi in the MV, lol 🙃

The song is one of my favourites of hers. The MV… not so much. Dont get me wrong. Well done, well told, acted and all. Very good, very good MV, one of the best of the year… I just find the whole thing rather stupid. I know lots of people find the whole “breaking her hearth for her own good” very romantic and all, and I guess sometimes it could, but to me the whole idea just seems like two people looking for a lot of unnecesary melodrama. There are like a thousend better ways to deal with a situation like this if you are an adult in a healthy relationtship, and i Keep felling like he is still trying to choose her life for her. I know he means well, but… I dont kow… Ughh…
I know this whole “giving precedence to my work/dreams” is a very dear theme to Yuqi, and kudos for following her vision, and the premise is drama coded to the core, but I am still watching the thing thinking “folks, just shut up, sit down, and have a talk like a couple of adults would”. Then again, there might be a reason why I dont really like dramas at all.. lol

this reminds me so much of Woodz’s Drowning (genuinely one of my favorite songs) which is why I liked Gone upon my first listen. I think it’s also a cute fact that in one of I-dle’s variety shows with their managers, Yuqi was having fun singing Drowning with her manager on her way to work. Feels like there was indeed some inspo which I AM ALL HERE FOR
