just finished my first run through, so short!
its a no skip album! All songs are amazing 🤩
Chapter You 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
She sounds amazing, the melodies are nice and her voice is just melted gold to my ears and I really liked Believe but for my personal taste this kind of mall sanitized rock is not it. It kills all possible interesting dynamics and it doesn’t leave much space to creativity. If rock had to be the root of this mini I would have loved at least one or two tracks more on the soulful soft/yacht rock side or on the funk rock side more playful and with more dynamics and adlibs which Wendy dominates so well.
Having said that I feel like this is exactly the album she wanted to make and many seem to enjoy this direction so I’m happy for her and I fully support her (I’ve bought all the versions of the album) I just wish they’ll give us more variety on her next album for those fans that are not really into pop rock
Chapter you is so good.
This album is amazing and everything I could have hoped for! As a pop/rock fan, Wendy really delivered with this one. Also, as expected, her vocals are stunning throughout the album.
I think right now Existential Crisis is my favorite, it’s such a fun song! Really though, any of the songs could be be my favorite on any given day, they are all wonderful. I love how cute and sweet Chapter You is. Believe is still gorgeous, and Fireproof is such a powerful opener. I adore this album!
Existential Crisis is *chefs kiss*
Really enjoying this album and i’m glad Wendy seems so much happier now
**Fireproof** – I’m literally watching the Tempest/Polaris Kdrama (with Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won) right now and paused it momentarily for Wendy, and this track legit reminded me of how much I wish Wendy would do more Kdrama/Korean variety shows/etc. soundtracks or theme songs. Cuz this one is so apt for Tempest/Polaris based on the mood/lyrics/et cetera, even more so with the church or Roman Catholic vibes of the Kdrama, sometimes I wish Wendy would do those choir-like songs to demonstrate her vocal range.
**Sunkiss** – It’s a good title track, Wendy proves her vocals every time with each song. I still wish she went for a Vermilion (the last track of her 2nd mini album from 2024) type of sound as I love it, but I like this sunshine/solar release too. The music video production was nice as well, especially in the second half when they had more of the varied scenes/sets/etc.
**EXISTENTIAL CRISIS** – I’m always just having an existential crisis as well, lol, especially with the astonishing (the flying orb kept its trajectory after the deflection!) MQ-9 video (from October 30, 2024) released through yesterday’s third public hearing about UAP/USO/NHI/etc. stuff (2023-07-26 and 2024-11-13 were the two previous hearings), and I’m still not sure how that video/clip is not mainstream news yet (it’s understandable though as it’s a fringe/etc. topic), but this song should hopefully help most of us in the coming days and years. Cuz it’s a track to definitely rock out to, though maybe for some it’s a bit too short at 2 minutes and 23 seconds long.
**Hate²** – Whoa, is this an actual anthem/rock-focused mini album? Interesting, it’s more subdued than the other tracks, but still on theme for the driving rock concept.
**Chapter You** – From the very first second with the 3D soundscape effects or vocal layering, I knew this track would be one of my favorites, it’s relatively laidback with the instrumentals but listen to her ethereal voice, she’s an angel from heaven (it’s even mentioned in the lyrics for this song, lol). Holy, I’m definitely using this to test IEMs/headphones/etc. in the future, it’s one of those songs where you feel like an immortal Xianxia cultivator ascending to the heavens.
**Believe** – It’s the epilogue and prologue at the same time! A powerful vocals performance by Wendy, one of her best, god-tier for sure. The music video/film for this song is just Wendy and the vast open ocean/sky/fields/et cetera, such cool imagery.

As expected, this mini album is one of the best vocals exhibition of 2025, she’s literally the best, wow.
Every time I wish she releases at least twice a year or so, or yup, wish she had more regular Kdrama OSTs so that we ReVeluvs can hear more of her studio-level vocals, cuz while I love her more live/raw/etc. vocals in the various shows she partakes in, sometimes the studio magic elevates Wendy’s already innate and amazing voice. And as you see with Chapter You and Believe, she’s forever incredible, timeless, the exemplar of her generation/Kpop in general.
Here’s to hoping fellow fans will continue support her with the new company (ASND, same place as fromis_9!) and so on. Cuz I swear fam, we all need Red Velvet Wendy’s vocals, especially in times like these days, she’s the wonderful eternal light to everything.
on my second listen-through now. i can’t say enough good things about the album. from the opening notes of fireproof i was hooked. chapter you is so dreamy and existential crisis is giving olivia rodrigo (in the best way). kinda wish we got a track as powerful as vermillion or as groovy as why can’t you love me, but these songs are all their own and i really love that.
i feel stupid getting vulnerable on here, but lately i’ve felt kind of lost in life, unsure of where i’m going and insecure in myself. i’ve fallen headfirst back into my decade-long red velvet fandom (not sure if that’s related, LOL) and this album really hit at just the right time for me. it reminded me of how many times in my life i’ve found comfort in wendy’s voice. i used to rewatch her instagram lives where she would just hang out and sing various songs all the time because they were so cozy and she was just so relaxed and doing exactly what she loved to do. this album made me feel really uplifted and sort of like i can keep going and everything is gonna be okay. wendy once said on one of her insta lives that she’d always be there, always singing. maybe that’s why her voice feels so warm and happy when i return to it. thank you, wendy!!!
1. *Fireproof*: One of the songs that surprised me! I didn’t think I’d like it this much after hearing the highlight medley. Love the bridge! The claps! The vocals! My only minor complaint is how thin her voice sounds at times.
2. *Sunkiss*: Such a good intro + catchy belted chorus. There’s something nostalgic about it for me, especially the pre-chorus. I really like this vibe for her.
3. *Existential Crisis*: Fun song! Once again, something nostalgic, early 2000s about it that I really like. And the vocals at the end!?
4. *Hate**^(2)*: My favorite overall so far. Catchy chorus, electric guitar, vocals, especially at the end!
5. *Chapter You*: The other song I didn’t think I’d like but ended up one of my favorites. A softer song that’s a nice break from all the upbeat, high energy songs so far. Vocals, of course!
6. *Believe*: A soaring pop ballad! I appreciate that it’s only piano and her vocals, with a lot of sustained notes.
No skip album. It’s probably tied with “Like Water” as my favorite album of hers at the moment.
Ok after one listen my favourite is definitely chapter you or believe.
1) chapter you
2) believe
3) existential crisis
4) hate²
5)sunkiss
6) fireproof
Very beautiful, cohesive album. I loved this. Can’t wait to see the livestages
A solid album from Mother Wendy. Sunkiss is a solid title track. I love Chapter You a lot, Existential Crisis feels very Disney coded and I love its overall vibe. I was not a fan of Believe when it was released as an album announcement but after giving the whole album a listen I like it as an ending to the album.
Overall – 8.8/10.
Great album. Love the pop rock sound for Wendy.
My favourites are Existential Crisis and Hate²
I’m so obsessed with Existential Crisis! I know this song is about to be on repeat. Hate² was another song that stood out to me. Overall, it’s a solid EP 👍
