Last year the shows were soldout, this year 100red fumbled bad and with HK situation more people left. GOD I wish everything falls in place for the boyz soon.

  2. At least as venues change go I’ve always really loved Center Stage in ATL, though it’s definitely a difference of a few hundred seats.

  3. I’ve been following the news about this tour here and there and wow is it ever a mess I feel so bad for their fans

Kpop tours are so unpredictable right now. Seems like demand is really high from fans but so many people are touring with ticket prices being so expensive that you can’t actually properly predict whose shows people will be buying for.

  5. It’s one thing for companies to book venues that are too big, I can see how it’s not trivial to know how big the fanbase is in an american city. But I don’t understand why they keep trying to charge so much more than what any other artist charges at the same venues.

A lot of groups artists at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. I’ve seen Kard and Dreamcatcher there in the past, TripleS Alphie and ARTMS are playing there soon, and Soojin was going to before it was canceled. The venue has a big open floor (it was a roller rink 100 years ago), some assigned seats on the side and behind the floor, and then bleachers above the door in the very back. For a standard show the floor and bleachers are GA/standing and tickets are about $65 these days. For kpop shows they fill that floor with chairs and assigned seating, so the bleachers are the only GA tickets. For the ARTMS show GA tickets are still $65 but seats at the very back of the floor are $108, and they scale up to VIP prices at the front.

So for a typical show, the $65 GA ticket gives you access to the floor, and you can be in the very front if you’re willing to get there early. But for a kpop show that same $65 GA ticket puts you in the very back, and if you want to be on the floor its $100-$170 for non-VIP depending on how far forward you are (and like $400 for VIP). So a kpop show is noticeably more expensive than American artists for decent seats. I love these groups but there is no way they should be charging more than Halsey or Chance the Rapper in a city that’s less than 4% asian.

The tripleS Alphie show is on Saturday and the floor looks about half sold, with rows 3-16 mostly available at $120-170 (the better half of the non-VIP seats). For the ARTMS show in November, the floor is about 1/3 sold though interestingly the front section is more filled out, and it’s the back 2/3 that’s available. I guess it’s not surprising that a post-loona group would have more american stans than tripleS buying the good seats as soon as they go on sale.

  6. Oh no that’s a bummer! I was debating on going to the Oakland show… But there’s just so many shows coming in at the same time and they’re all so expensive that I really can’t justify it

So many K-pop groups are having to cancel or move shows. It’s a shame but also not that surprising. There are so many groups touring right now, the tickets are so expensive, and so many companies are picking massive/too big venues. For me personally, there are a lot of K-pop shows where I live and I would love to attend them but I just can’t justify spending that amount of money for only okay seats.

(I think) The Boyz are the biggest group to have to cancel/move shows due to low ticket sales but with how some other tours are selling and the direction the economy is going in I wouldn’t be surprised if we started seeing more shows canceled or changed for more popular groups including groups/idols from the big 4.
