Since all them have release solo music in the years before 2024/2025, I wouldn’t think they qualify as new artists.

It makes sense but these awards are also incredibly dumb. Leon Thomas is nominated for Best New Artist when he’s already won a Grammy in another category, and been nominated in a different, third one. The rule about “new” artist may still apply to him, but they’re still a mess.
