“And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” – 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NIV)

“So sweet, so easy on the eyes / but hideous on the inside” – lyrics to HUNTR/X – TAKEDOWN

idk seems to work pretty well with Christian values to me

  2. Many schools around the world (and especially in the US too) banned **Harry Potter** for the same reason.. nothing new or shocking here tbh

As a Christian, that’s ridiculous 😭 the entire movie is about taking down demons from what I heard

  5. Golden seems to be about building self esteem and maybe that’s bad for Christians? Idk maybe they were freaked by the “demon” in the title. lol

you’d think that “going up, up, up” would be a very Christian value 🤔 hashtag rapturecore

  7. A lot of people here are overthinking. As a Brit who has Christian relatives and grew up in a rural area with a heavy church presence, it’s most likely nothing to do with obscure scriptural references or complex interfaith relationships.

The backlash was probably a mixture of concern over the presence of demons in the film in the first place and the fact that K-pop and boy bands have always been seen as a bit of a bad influence amongst the religious.

In Britain, even those who go to church regularly or send their children to Christian schools (which are most primary schools in England) are moreso culturally Christian than religiously Christian, and what with all of the ab-flashes and short shorts, it’s exactly the kind of thing that’s bound to rub them the wrong way.

  8. LOL. My Catholic university told us not to see Life of Brian because it was blasphemous. So of course we went.
