  1. Omg this is so sad, I’m shocked by this news. He was such a great writer. He wrote so many interesting, positive things about BTS when they just started to gain traction in America. He was one of the first to take them seriously.

Oh wow, I just watched his video with NCT Haechan and thought he was a great interviewer and very knowledgeable critic. It felt it was so much more interesting and well thought-out than your typical idol interview.

Horrifying news as always and I wish his family the best.

  3. I’m thinking of his loved ones at this time, what tragic news to learn, especially during the holidays.😭🫶

  4. Rest in peace.

I’ve read a lot of the articles he wrote about BTS, and they were all very eloquent and enjoyable. This is so sad.

I also lost someone over the holidays, and it’s still hard to fathom. My thoughts and heart are with his family and loved ones.

Damn it’s so sad. Dude is a huge orbit and jaden jeong enjoyer. He even said loona is top 5 best act in korea despite their underwhelming popularity but in his book he mentioned loona several times. He did interview with artms members twice and it was super enjoyable.

  7. I’m sitting here wondering if I’m losing my mind because he just shared the interview he did with NCT’s Haechan and they expressed how great it was for them to have that exchange. I’m thinking, it cannot be him. Wow. I’m in absolute shock.

I hope the work he’s done continues to go on and never be unnoticed.

May he rest in peace. My condolences to his family and friends during this time.

  8. Whaaaaat, being a kpop fan since 2017 I have associated him to the kpop scene always): rest in peace

Incredibly sad 😔 May his soul R.I.P. and his family be given the strength to get through this tough time 🕊️

  10. I’m so sorry to hear this news. Completely shocked.

ETA: Times are really something when a condolences message gets downvoted?

  11. I listen to his weekly KBS segments. I keep hoping I am getting the name wrong and it’s a different Young Dae, but….

  12. Rest in peace :(. I’m in shock because i know he did a interview with Haechan recently about taste that i’ve only seen clips of but it seemed so eloquent and interesting. I heard they talked for hours too

  13. Oh my goodness this is devastating. Youngdae was such an excellent music critic and had such wonderful things to say about so many people’s music. Rest in peace.

Sad to hear this. Can anyone confirm if this is the critic who appeared on Pentagon’s Night Radio?

  15. That’s so devastating. I really enjoyed his writing, and I thank him for helping explain why I enjoyed certain songs and oftentimes give others a deeper appreciation for them. We lost such a talent. I hope he passed peacefully.
