I’m honestly not super surprised, in that WakeOne and Jellyfish have had recent contract negotiations and exchanges with the original WakeOnez who are now fully Jellyfish artists with the EVNNE members, and MNH still has 8turn as recent-ish boygroup, AND Matthew and Gunwook have been a VERY great and popular duo that has risen during ZB1’s period (shoutout to their Backpacker OST), but STILL. Under WakeOne still 😭😭😭 I hope they still get treated well, and more freedom (I doubt it but let Matthew post social media content and let Gunwook produce).
WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER MEMBERS NOW?!?!?

Ooo it seems wakeone is going even further then ot7 Kep1er by buying out the remaining members contracts. Similiar to HYBE being out Chaewon’s from Woolim. Honestly pretty smart, as it gives them 100% of the profits. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear news of them buying the rest of the non Yuehuas contracts to.

Okay interesting! My personal fantasy best case scenario from where we are now is zb1 splits precisely in half with the Yuehuas in one group (I guess with Seungeon and Yunseo because if YH pulled them from Evnne for no good reason ISTG we would have to burn them down) and then the remaining Jebis as a second group (with no new additions).
I think I just like that idea best because it’s closest to the status quo and I fear change (also we saw what happened with post-wannaone groups aswell as post IOI groups, especially those that added too many members so the ex project group members weren’t able to maintain the hype…. weki meki anyone?)
I’m trying not to hold on too tightly to any hopes either way though…. At the very least I like this news because I was worried about what Matthew’s plans especially were going to be for the future.

Park Gun Wook was already debut ready with his first performance on Boys Planet so I think this is the right call. Hell i think he’s better than most existing kpop idols.

I know that a lot of zerose have their issues with Wakeone (myself included) but i am so happy at least to see Matthew is no longer in MNH 🥳🥳 and regardless of the plans for the now three Wakeone members, whether redebut or continuing as zb1, it’s a relief to see the boys not being completely separated!
