    My [predictions](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/comments/1qwdmes/2026_23rd_korean_music_awards_kma_announces/o3pd4up/) from the nominees post were somewhat correct. I was right about album and rookie for the main awards, and for genre awards I got Pop song, Pop album, R&B song, Rock song, Alternative rock song, and Folk album.
    I really thought it was between Nmixx or Jennie for song, but I’m pleasantly happy that Lee Chanhyuk got it, I really liked that album and song! For the Kpop awards I was between Jennie and NMIXX, but made the wrong gamble on NMIXX.

    Effie had 6 nominations and nmixx 4 but both sadly didn’t win any, still great years for them both.

    I have never had a larger gap between my personal rating for an album and the KMA AOTY. Oh well, everyone has different tastes

    I was excited to check out a new alt rock girlie, but, I’m sorry, for me, huijun woo’s off-key, little-kid voice made the songs pretty much unlistenable. Oof.

    Definitely felt like the Kpop category was a coin toss between JENNIE and NMIXX. I personally would have gone JENNIE with album and NMIXX with song.

    Lee Chanhyuk with 3 wins is well deserved, such a good album and song. Unsurprising win for HANRORO given her meteoric rise this year.

    Happy Yoon Da Hye got the win in R&B/Soul despite CHUDAHYE CHAGIS winning AOTY. WANG is just pure R&B excellence. Now please don’t drop off the face of the earth like jerd did after winning.

    Also an indirect win for EPIK HIGH with LOV3 winning. The original went viral now a KMA for a song that sampled it.

    It’s a shame Hwasa didn’t get it this time – hopefully in the next award season. Good goodbye was a juggernaut on the charts and had amazing impact in the last quarter
