I was introduced to them by a close friend recently, although I'm a bit still new[a few weeks old] to the fandom, I really enjoy their covers. But I believe they can get a massive surge in popularity if they can attract those who love fan covers/re-arrangements of popular anime and game songs.

Some viral ones I'd suggest from games to cover are those from the Persona series:

color your night

beneath the mask

last surprise

going down now

counter-strike

As for anime…Carole and Tuesday would be quite the hype as the vocal collections[Solos,Duets,& Group tracks] are legendary within anime-dom. Some recc:

kiss me

army of two

round and laundry

the loneliest girl

and ofc…if it's okay, This acapella can easily go mega viral for its meme-ability.

galactic mermaids

Here are a few examples of unknown/indie start-up singers who built a following from just doing viral animes/games covers:

pealeaf

caitlin myers

sachi gomez(FF8-eyes on me)

In conclusion, I think with their vocal ranges, flexibility ,and colors,They can pull fans from these sources and even set up a patron? for donations/recommendation kinda of like a juke box for covers.

Sorry for a weird intro/first post in this fandom haha…But when I saw that they like to do covers and no other groups in kpop has done gaming/anime covers that I know of, I think they have the potential to break barriers and draw in a new crowd. If you guys like this idea, It'd be great if the fandom can collectively get this to their attention.

Thnx for reading if you made it this far.

  1. Sullyoon did a cover of Comet by Younha and she did fantastic. NMIXX also sang Why by Gen Hoshino for Spy X Family.

I do hope they delve into anime covers or they land their own songs for anime. I know they’d do well.

  2. TragedyLooper on

Technically, Haewon did cover an anime ED already: in the group Lee Mujin Service episode she covered a song that she knows as part of a K-Drama, but the original JP version, Yuki no Hana, was also the EP 8 ED or ReLIFE!

While I would love it if NMIXX did some anime covers, I’m not sure how much it would help with their popularity. For example, both ILLIT and ENHYPEN have songs that are official anime OPs this season, and I think aespa has one for next season (as well as previously doing a Pokemon OP or ED), while Felix of SKZ collabed with LiSA. For covers specifically, the Korean version of Kimi ni Todoke’s OP has been popular lately.

That said regardless of popularity I would love a HaeLy duet of Loneliest Girl. For meme potential to go viral maybe Jujutsu Kaisen’s ED.

  3. NMixx aren’t a small group they are under Kpop idol agency. For covers at their level copyright comes into play they would need to negotiate regarding copyright permissions if they want to monetize covers that they do. For example Lily just put out a cover of Taylor Swift a couple weeks ago, I’m sure she asked permission for that for a long time.

Secondly, time and effort is an issue as well. NMixx are super hot now they have so many activities lined up almost rivaling Twice. On their downtime the members prob want to rest instead of make covers.
