They’re a western group. It’s not weird for musicians in the west to announce albums months out.
They were just at Coachella and are getting buzz for that, of course now is a good time to announce the new album.
And no, they’re not going to mire that by announcing Manon’s departure sandwiched between two dates at the biggest musical festival in the US.

Is anyone else thinking that HYBE is lowkey trying something new? It feels like they’re trying to space out the schedule expectations for all their groups.
BTS announced their tour stops one year ahead. Enhypen announced their tour stops one year ahead. Now we have Katseye announcing their album 4 months ahead. It feels more spaced out from the announcements than usual.

Then there’s Internet Girl/Gnarly which had potential but the lyrics ruined it.

Why can’t they make an album, they’ve already gotten their monetary return from all the single releases and the shows they’ve done (esp their tour) since 2024. Like let them cook and give the fans an actual album with good songs please

While it is unusual by kpop standards, ita not unheard of to announce album that far in advance…XG did the same and both Katseye and XG are global groups. Its definitely possible their will be a summer prerelease. Im a very casual listener of Katseye but I def understand the frustration fans are having, but I also think its best to not jump to conclusions and at least look at the positive that they are thinking well in advance for group activities.

I’m ot6 so I won’t be supporting this project until the company clarifies the current status with Manon. if Manon is not continuing forward with the group, I’m blaming all of this solely on the Geffen management team. I won’t be following the group, but I feel like despite it all, they will have success. However, I’m forever ot6 😔

They need to release a full album instead of another EP. I know that this is very common in kpop but western audiences value full-length releases a lot more than EPs. That next Grammy nomination is probably just a dream atp.
