I was really hoping to see them live this year, but no shows except LA near me. Plus ticket prices, the US economy, wprld affairs, schedules, travel expenses all factor in. Sad for fans, but I think it’s better to cancel early, then wait. Here’s to hoping they have a great comeback!!

They’re saying it’s comeback related, what was going to be May is now July, making an August tour a tight squeeze. They are apparently attempting to reschedule it. Hope they’re still doing Lolla.

I think the low sales pushed them to finally take this decision but I do think that in a certain way, the comeback is the biggest reason here… Usually when concerts are canceled due to low sales they wait until the concert dates are closer in hopes that they sell more tickets. If it was only bc of sales, I bet the cancelation would be announced around June, not in mid April.

  4. were sales low? Recent concerts have been cancelled because of this example Meghan Trainor.

Thanks to those replying with info. It’s unfortunate but with how the economy is currently I’m not even surprised, seems to be the reason for cancellations lately

The comeback delay sure the main reason to cancel this North America tour. Sad but understandable.

  6. i’m sure it wasn’t a rash decision. but when artists cancel tours they have to pay a penalty fee to the venue/promoter.

If the sales were good, they wouldn’t have canceled it. If the prices were actually decent, they would have sold more seats. I saw the prices, scoffed, and closed ticketmaster site.

  8. idle’s next show is meant to be in Melbourne, Australia. It looks like they’ve sold about 20% of the Arena with only a month to go. I cannot fathom why they decided Rod Laver Arena was a suitable venue given it holds about 13,000 people in end-stage concert configurations.

All of the “cheap” tickets are sold out but there are huge swathes of tickets available on both sides. They’re still asking for $300-500 for these tickets which is absolutely mental.

They either need to cut ticket prices in half or they will be cancelling the Australian shows as well.

  9. I know I shouldn’t have expected more, but I did.

Still looking to make a swing at Singapore, but it’s looking grim. So, will still hope beyond hope they are able to come next year.

    Edit:

I’m unsure of the accuracy. But I did look at each stop a few days before the cancellation at it did seem roughly 50% was available at each stop.

99% of tour cancellations of all artists in the world are due to low ticket sales. It is what it is, no matter what they says. Hopefully, they get better promotion in the US and have their moment again.

  11. For a generic statement such as this, I wonder why Cube couldn’t have issued it on Friday. Before people had to find out the NA leg was cancelled via TicketMaster.

  12. IDK why it’s so hard for people to believe this is comeback related when the delay announcement was literally like a week ago… That makes perfect sense vs the ticket sales. Sure they may have been low but 4 months to save and buy a ticket is plenty of time.

  13. This is just like Meghan Trainor cancelling her tour due to not being able to fill large arenas and high ticket prices.

  14. man someone in kpopthoughts posted about how they were worried that i-dle would cancel their tour 😭

it seems like the kpop concert bubble is popping. consumers don’t have much extra money lately and touring is probably much more expensive compared to the past due to visas/gas etc.

  15. I don’t follow group tours so idk if previous years were the same but this year did have some big na tours from le sserafim twice aespa etc. I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if people spent their budget and ticket sales were the reason. Either way I’m sure they’ll figure things out

  16. MissionBandicoot on

This statement pretty much confirms that delaying their new album till July was the primary reason for canceling the NA tour. I predict that they must have their comeback slated for late July, which would put them in a very tight time crunch considering their first stop in NA is on August 2nd.

I’m not sure why people keep insisting on low ticket sales being the problem. All of the ultimate VIP tickets were sold out in all of the stops, and the “cheaper tickets” with the better views were also sold out. People don’t realize that canceling an entire NA tour is costly, the expenses from that added on to the expenses to they had to pay from the decision of delaying their new album makes me think that there must be a scheduling issue.

  17. I don’t know if its cube or the entertainment company booking that underestimate how hard it is to sell out a venue. Just because some old well established groups are able to do so doesn’t means ALL groups are able to do it. It seems that cube is trying to safe face by claiming its due to a comeback but we all know the real reason they cancel concerts
