This is part 2 of a 3 part interview with Star News Korea.
The interviewer starts by pointing out that last year was his busiest combining multiple acting projects, solo music promotions and variety shows. Junyoung revealed that filming for two of his acting projects ended up overlapping, which led to him only sleeping 2-3 hours a days, taking only 1 or 2 days off a month and eventually passing out one day from physical exhaustion. So when being asked if he has any regrets for his ‘military hiatus’, he says that he doesn’t and sees this as an opportunity to rest, but is worried about his health since his back and knees hurt a little bit.
>Lee Junyoung revealed, “As a singer, honestly, I don’t have any plans going forward. The last album, ‘LAST DANCE’, was my final album. That’s why I named it ‘LAST DANCE’. Who knows what might happen later, but for now, that’s how I feel. I believe I sent a proper send-off with ‘LAST DANCE’.”
>
>When asked for the reason, “To those who make singing their profession, it might seem like I’m doing it just as an event. Singing was once my main job (*talking about UKISS), but that has changed to acting. Releasing albums and promoting as a singer that in itself is tremendous effort for singers, right? It’s their daily work, just like filming is for me. When I asked myself if I could do that with the same dedication as acting, I thought I couldn’t. If that’s the case, it would be disrespectful to them, so it’s like, ‘We’ve had fun with it so far so let’s let it go.”

He only just made his comeback as a singer… that was short-lived

Kinda expected that he will enlist soon since he’s been working nonstop for the past two years or so. I hope he’ll reconsider his retirement from singing. He’s quite talented at it for someone who started out as the group’s rapper. Even OST features here and there will suffice.

ugh I expected that he wouldn’t come back as an idol but it breaks my heart ❤️🩹 imagine releasing Phenomenal World and not having the energy to sing anymore…. I hope he’ll do OSTs and covers still though!!

Retirement at as a singer to focus on acting? At least he made it official now. Because he hasn’t done much to keep the singer title since being on The Unit and leaving UKISS.
Edit: typos
