Yes, OK, it’s hanbok inspired + I can see European royal (perhaps the Tudor era?) influences in the shape of the overcoat. Neither of those things are so monochromatic and minimalistic in my mind (unless she’s trying to spefivicaly invoke the people who couldnt afford multicoloured and intricate garments which she very much is not!). At the very least, bring in some embroidery.
Nothing against Karina, she’s my bias and gorgeous as ever. But the styling is an absolute letdown on part of everyone who had a hand in it

I think she’s going for modern hanbok- and I like the concept of that, but I wish she would have committed more with the silhouette of the dress. Makeup and jewelry is pretty. Wish she could have done some fun colors- the black and white is what really drags it down.

So far, the only idols that have ever done something interesting are indeed CL and Scoups. But I did like Jennie’s 2025 look though it wasn’t as interesting, and I did see some photos of Lisa and NingNing, and there’s also look okay and definitely much more on theme for this year’s Met Gala.

I have nothing to say about the look but her faaaaaace omg. I’ve been staring at her photos for a good few mins with my jaw hanging. She looks so delicate I think hair and makeup wise…this is one of my favourite looks on her. The dress is pretty it’s just too simplistic for the MET.

I understand it’s part of their culture to dress more conservatively and it’s ultimately not up to them how they dress for events like this anyways, but I do wish it was acceptable or at least more common for idols to be a little more daring and experimental when they are attending western events. It doesn’t give the best or most memorable impression to people unfamiliar with them when they play it so safe like this.
Karina at the Met Gala could and should be one of the most iconic and talked about looks this year if they really tried. Like imagine having THAT canvas to work with for this theme and this is all you can come up with…she looks beautiful of course but the wasted potential just makes me upset lol.

Actually, her dress on Cannes 2023 is better than this. Maybe because the hanbok oveshadowed her white dress. that even the details of the white dress cannot be seen.
