I’ll keep with the ocean theme too. 20,000 leagues behind any lyric on the actual track. The song is filled with double entendre that allow multiple interpretations. Putting it straight into a hornball song diminishes the depth and meaning of the original.

ETA: I’m being a little harsh on Max, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when a past collaborator uses their success to self-promote without being involved in the thing they are promoting.

Standalone it could be good but doesn’t go with the original song’s theme.

This is a tad overt, yeah? I don’t think it matches the same vibe. Swim has a sensual feel to me but it’s subtle. Maybe this could be a different song altogether.

I don’t love it. It feels like he is putting romantic lyrics in there that weren’t in any of the other verses.

  5. this interpretation was unnecessarily sexual and takes away from the sophistication of the original song

Well aren’t we lucky he did not have a verse on the song!!!

Someone didn’t bother to read the lyrics…
Well, to be fair, I remember a comment on this sub : the redditor was convinced that the song was about oral sex, sooooo… 😅
