WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIEND! I was so glad to be a part of the voting team that contributed a hella ton of votes with just 20 people in it.
Add to that the Voting Collabs the fanbases organised on Twitter where we gathered abundance of votes, everyone posting about reminders to vote for AMAs, people who actually made those funny voting video edits and printed out QR codes and even promoted the voting at MUFG Stadium for Japanese ONCEs and the fans that mobilised on the last day of voting which felt like the fandom had truly come together to vote from all over the world – y’all did it.
Congratulations to TWICE, the first K-pop girl group in history to win an AMAs award!

After their marathon tour, new albums, documentary, MISAMO release, Japanese releases, side hustle releasing the title track for the biggest movie of the last year, Lolla stage, Vic’s Secret show, and the Jeongyeon thirst traps, I mean can you really argue against it?
That was exhausting just typing it all out!
I hope they get a well deserved break and enjoy the accolades because they have earned it!

The crazy thing is Once isn’t known as the most coordinated fandom when it comes to voting (historically speaking) but it really felt like fans did a nice job in organizing, raising awareness, and actually getting fans to vote.
I hope the members and their team are happy.
“First Korean girlgroup to win an AMA” will fit nicely along among their already legendary list of feats. Truly the best to ever do it.
