What is “Now That’s What I Call K-Pop?” Is this something that gets released every year?

For every single group except Fifty Fifty I’m like… that’s NOT the relatively recent single I would have picked lol.

The Now albums were my childhood! Used to borrow them at the library and rip the best songs so I could play them in the car.

No 2nd Gen/3rd Gen songs? Now that’s what I call k-pop

Clear recency bias on the tracklist here but pretty good cross-label range (presumably all distributed by Sony and Universal in the US? That seems to be who owns Now That’s What I Call Music.) and surprising to see Kep1er, StayC, and tripleS instead of more big 4 artists. Not the compilation I’d put together personally but it does its job well enough

As a girl group stan, I’m mad KIOF’s Bad News didn’t make it onto this.
Otherwise, good choices.

Saw this pop up on Instastories. If there are physical releases of this, I’m curious how many fans would want to purchase a compilation album if they already have the albums of their fave(s) who are featured. Like it made sense in the 2000’s before streaming existed and you couldn’t just listen to the one popular song of an artist which had received major radio play, you had to buy the full album.
Noticed 14/20 songs are from JYP, SM and HYBE. Can’t help but wonder if YG didn’t want in or not on this.

Song selection isn’t bad since they’re going recent. ive and newjeans the most glaring omissions

GOT7 Just Right would have been perfect.

Who tf is the target audience for this?
The only reason kpop fans buy CDs is to support their favorite groups. People don’t actually listen to the discs.
Who is going to buy a compilation CD when Spotify exists?
