No spoilers for Armageddon obviously but the first few songs sound like fire! This is giving me Savage vibes.

  2. I did not expect to like BAHAMA this much just from the song name alone haha. But it’s super cute!

Supernova sounds very catchy… but where was Armageddon ?

  3. mangosagoat on

Ooh those first two tracks are WILD. Can’t wait for the drop. My current favorite is probably Mine with its “Illusion” vibes

the GRIN that appeared on my face when the organ came in on supernova ..

edit: the HEY-HE-HEY HEY HEY on set the tone .. wow

The album is giving a lot of 90s sounds especially the first half. Most of the songs aren’t really my style tbh, but Mine and Bahama sound really promising and i can see Live My Life growing on me.

I love the songs so far I’m gonna be replaying this until the album comes out 😭

My faves right now are supernova, mine, licorice, bahama, and live my life. I can’t wait for the songs to be out and I hope they promote at least one of them alongside supernova and armageddon 🥹

I’m obsessed with the instrumental on Supernova. Ningning’s voice sounds incredible on Live myLife.

The girls said that Armageddon is better than Supernova

    SM REALLY GATEKEEPING ARMAGEDDON?
But I’m not complaining! I wanna get surprised

  9. I can’t wait. I am glad they didn’t include Armageddon. Karina just said she likes it better than Supernova so hopefully they are saving the best for last!

  10. I WAS NOT EXPECTING BAHAMA TO COME LIKE THAT… OH LAWRD I NEED TO GO TO THE BEACH LISTENING TO THIS

  11. I like how the songs go from slapping hard af to more gentle and softish by the end, ending it off with a ballady song lmao. That means Armageddon is gonna absolutely slap too as track 2

  12. I love tracks 1-5, and I assume Armageddon will fit those themes, but from Bahamas on, it’s just a bit over the place.. too many filler tracks that just sound like your typical “fan songs”. I like aespa’s brighter side too, but would have preferred Bahamas or Prologue on a different album probably.

I like how the album is very balanced, the first 5 tracks sounds like what people would expect the usual aespa sound to be, while the latter 5 are brighter, which isn’t new to aespa, it’s always been implied since their synk teasers that they will have brighter sounds along side their usual dark meta verse sound.

I like how there’s a flow in the album, it gradually goes from dark sounds to brighter sounds, you can also split the album in half (Side A: Supernova, Armageddon, Set The Tone, Mine, Licorice.) (Side B: Bahama, Long Chat, Prologue, Live My Life, Melody), the songs don’t sound the same but the album is still cohesive.

Bahama surprisingly sound good, it’s giving a very summer city pop feel, it might be one of my favourite b-side from this album.

also SM needs to stop closing albums with slow ballads, it’s overdone at this point, give us something different please.

  14. it feels like the 1st half is one mini and the 2nd half is a different mini with the different sounds. 1st half sounds like a what you expect from aespa’s concept while the 2nd half is very lighthearted but also more generic? i do like the 2nd half more but im used to sm’s full albums being cohesive so im just surprised by how different the songs sounded after licorice 🤔

Really looking forward to this! Live My Life sounds like a perfect summer bop, Melody sounds beautiful (and not the slower ballad I was expecting after how a lot of the ballad EP-ending songs have gone). Mine reminds me of Salty & Sweet and Illusion.

  16. sahdbhoigh on

i can already tell that mine, bahama, prologue, and melody are gonna be near the top of my most played songs for the year.

it’s looking like album of the year for me, folks

  17. Live My Life comes in like crazy. That’s like a completely different era of sound compared to the rest of this album. Rest feels like classic aespa, just hoping for good melodies and bridges. Supernova def has that title track touch. I’m so happy that we don’t know anything about how Armageddon sounds!

  18. Upset-Car-8156 on

kinda nervous for this tbh. i love 90% of aespa’s music but nothing really jumped out to me except supernova.

i’ll definitely be listening to the full album though and i think it will grow on me!

  19. And I quote from Karina’s recent bbl, “Supernova is good, but Armageddon is the real deal.” I-

sounds like a total classic , can’t wait!!

darker Kwangya outer spacey Side 1 and lighter sunnier hot air balloony Side 2 both sound so good and together have the full spectrum of aespa worlds!

  21. stonedmoonbunny on

this sounds like such a strong, well-rounded album! I really can’t wait!!

  22. makejunkie20 on

I know Mine, Licorice and Prologue will THAT songs for me. They sound out of this world and their vocals in Prologue made me ascend.

I really like the sound so far. It does a good job of slowly transitioning from their darker sound to a more bright ending.

  23. MegaEvolvedLady on

Aespa 🤝 Red Velvet: Songs where they chant a B word with a bunch of As. Bahama is my favorite track!

  24. MINE and PROLOGUE definitely caught my ear, I’ll be looking forward to the full versions.

SET THE TONE reminds me of something but I can’t put my finger on it 🤔 maybe it’s just a bit more modern 90s hip-hop sound?

  25. friedsoyabeanpatty on

loving track 1 – 7 but i don’t they think really care about making it 100% cohesive .. i feel like some of the tracks belongs to MY WORLD and some MY WORLD tracks belongs here

and oh the DRAMA tracklist .. the songs are good individually but it’s just not an enjoyable listen from start to finish. why is “hot air balloon” not on MY WORLD? the cover literally has a inflatable logo on it

but i guess it’s just a kpop thing, it would be nice having an album that sounds like it was actually recorded in one session though (think ‘savage’, or wonder girls’ ‘reboot’)

    but i’m def seated!
