Jeonghan and Dino! What a fascinating pair! I remember how torn Jeonghan was over trying to pick between Dino and Seungkwan in One Fine Day. I watched it as a baby carat and I remember being surprised that Jeonghan didn’t pick Dino right away because I felt like their friendship was more, I don’t know, in my face? More obvious to me? (funnily it actually made start to pay attention to Seungkwan and Jeonghan.)

Anyway these days, I feel like they’ve lost in popularity and momentum compared to previous years. I remember when ‘Dino nugu aegi’ was so popular and Dino being Jeonghan’s baby was just a fact of life lol. I feel it made people pay special attention to their interactions because of that, trying to find more materials to file under their respective “mom” and “baby” roles.

Beyond those kpop set roles though, it is true that Dino once mentioned that the members that baby him the most were Jeonghan and Hoshi.
Wish I could insert that clip of the two of them fussing over Dino and pinching his cheeks while cooing at him like he’s a literal baby.

He also is one of the member who actually referred to Jeonghan as a mom beyond those generic interview questions where they have to pick a member as the mom, the dad, the one who hate skinship, the sensitive one and the loud one, etc and they kinda have to point to someone (which I think is more worthy of paying attention to because it tells a lot about their different dynamics).

Beyond those moments, I think only Hoshi, Jun, and Dino described Jeonghan like that? (Plus Seungcheol who called him the mom and dad of the group).

In different occasions Dino describe Jeonghan as :
– “Seventeen’s mom.”
– “He is like our kind mother. He’s always looking out for members, so if he notices that someone is acting a little different from usual, he’s the first to ask if they’re alright. If I had to say his weakness, it would be that he has no stamina (laughs)”
– “He suddenly asks “Have you eaten?” just like what mom does.”
-” He’s like my mom. He’s so loving and considerate of the members. He’ll be the first to catch if any of us isn’t feeling 100%. He’s perfect for us.”(this last one is from koreaboo and I couldn’t find the original so grain of salt. It matches the others so I included it.)

So it’s interesting to look at their dynamic when Dino used to say things like that. Of course with time some things have changed like :

**Carat:**” Dino is whose baby?? I haven’t seen it recently, so I’m lonely 🦦👼🏻.”
**Jeonghan:** “It can’t be helped*, Dino doesn’t like itㅋㅋㅋㅋ”

I think there was always a live where Dino also talked about it? He is still fine playing along with being Carats’ baby though.

Also Dino doesn’t refer to Jeonghan as a mom figure anymore.

In fact he said: “Jeonghan hyung is the one who I, the youngest, end up taking care of”. That was in 2020.

**Q** Who’s the most clingy/craves attention?

-Jeonghan

**Mingyu**: “It’s because hyung has a lot of aegyo, and is the “cute character” that really likes to cling onto other people.”

**Dino**:”Whenever he finds it hard to memorize the choreography, he comes over just to whine.”

Still to this day Jeonghan is someone Dino confides in:

**Q:** “Which Seventeen member do you most often confide your worries to?”

**Dino**: “Vernon hyung, Hoshi hyung, and Jeonghan hyung. They listen to me very carefully. No matter what I say.”

He also called Jeonghan “a safe keeper of my secrets.”

I think they remained close throughout the years, they have so many little stories of hanging out just the two if them or in group of threes, going out to eat, going shopping, going for drinks, visiting places, there’s the story of going to han river with Wonwoo and Jeonghan making them bet on having to drink the water with his instant coffee.

Dino mentioned in that one GoSe how Mingyu and Jeonghan were the one he’d call when he felt like drinking.

It feels like Jeonghan always knows what’s going on with Dino and Dino is also invovled in aspects of Jeonghan’s life. They also have a lot of little fights which is possible because they spend so much time around each other I guess 😅.

Dino was very supportive and overall present while JxW were working on their unit and they kept mentioning him as their leader after. Said they picked him because he was next to them while they were discussing it. There’s also that clip of Jeonghan helping Dino film himself while he was practicing for one of his danceology.

One thing about their dynamic that also hasn’t changed is how much Jeonghan likes to tease Dino and put him on the spot, get him to do funny things or just contradict him to make him flustered.

**Q:** You seem to tease the members a lot while taking care of them. That makes you look like a young boy.

**Jeonghan:** “Ah, I tend to tease the people that I like more. It’s my way of showing love. Even though the kids might not like it but I like it a lot so I just continue doing it. But Dino said this: You have to act like you didn’t like it (the teasing) so that fans would think it’s cute.”
