  1. **UPDATE**

**A representative from YG said, “Nothing has been specifically decided yet,” and is being cautious, but it appears that BLACKPINK’s new album will be released before or after their world tour.**

The group BLACKPINK, returning as a full group for the first time in three years, has officially launched its comeback in the second half of the year under the direct leadership of Yang Hyun-suk, YG Entertainment’s (hereinafter YG) chief producer.

**According to the music industry on the 27th, BLACKPINK completed their new album jacket photoshoot at a location in Seoul last week. With Yang Hyun-suk’s chief producer investing significant effort into this album, rumors suggest the jacket photoshoot is of global-level quality. BLACKPINK’s comeback comes approximately three years after releasing their second full-length album ‘Born Pink’ on September 16, 2022.**

Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk announced on the YG blog on the 26th that “We will soon be able to share news about BLACKPINK’s new song,” and with the jacket photoshoot completed, it seems this will be more than just a single release but a global album.

Yang Hyun-suk, the general producer, announced the comeback and world tour of BLACKPINK starting last year, scheduled for 2025. Eagerly anticipating the days when they would work together at their ‘home base,’ he early on organized a ‘TF team’ dedicated to BLACKPINK, making thorough preparations. Thanks to this, the comeback work is progressing smoothly. It is said that the members are steadily engaging in their work as BLACKPINK based on strong trust in General Producer Yang and YG. Having showcased solo activities with better-than-expected success and flaunted their reputation as a global top girl group, they are currently reportedly focusing on team work with good spirits.

Along with the new album work, BLACKPINK is also preparing for a tour featuring all four members together. Whether they will present stages related to the new album at the world tour kickoff on July 5 and 6 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium.

Starting with the Goyang concert in July, BLACKPINK will meet global fans at stadium-level concert halls around the world, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, and Tokyo, through a world tour spanning 10 cities and 18 performances. Given the enthusiastic global response to the full BLACKPINK concert, additional concerts are expected to be confirmed soon.

As BLACKPINK, which previously recorded the highest revenue in the history of girl groups worldwide with its ‘Bone Pink’ tour, is presenting a new tour after about 1 year and 10 months, it is said that YG, including General Manager Yang, is making great efforts to produce a high-quality performance. This tour will include not only BLACKPINK’s existing hit songs, but also many stages from the members’ solo albums.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK left YG at the end of 2023 and became independent. Rosé has made a new home at The Black Label, and Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo have each established their own one-person agencies. They have been releasing solo works in earnest since last fall and have achieved significant results. Rosé has set a new record for the longest charting streak among female K-pop artists by entering Billboard’s main single chart, the ‘HOT 100’, for 30 weeks with her duet song ‘Apartment’ with Bruno Mars.

Jennie and Lisa caught the attention of global music fans with their powerful performances at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025’ held in Indio, California last month, and Jisoo has been showing off her unique colors in both music and acting. Recently, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa also proved their global presence by attending the ‘2025 Met Gala’, the world’s largest fashion charity fundraising event.

They mean album to go with the tour LOL I’ll believe it when I see it but boy would that be lovely. I would really be happy to see some type of teaser or concept photo as YG pissed me tf off yesterday.

  3. um… second half of the year is a choice………. the tour starts 5 days into the second half of the year💀this is about to be so fucking rushed

  4. Imagine going to BP concert and not being able to sing their new songs because they come out two days before 😂 CRINGE YG!!

  5. My theory: the new album will all be songs that didn’t make it to past albums. Not a bad thing tho! The cut songs from Future Nostalgia for example are AMAZING

I have to say this. I prefer the album come out after the tour, but they perform their new songs in the tour. That also gives them more promotional activities after the tour. I prefer that but they have to perform their new songs before it comes out or else it’ll js b born pink tour all over again (maybe a pre release b4 the tour would be nice considering yg said “new song” loll) but yeah, I prefer that alot more

  7. “second half of the year” not them starting the tour with no album out……

Who releases an album after their world tour ?. YG is killing us again instead of being a bit more patient and letting them finish things up. I know that tours need to be booked way in advance but I hope there’s some clarity about what is going on sooner than later.

  9. So it kinda confirms that they underestimated the time it would take after the girls solo schedules to put an album together and running late for the release before the tour.

I hope they’ll somehow manage to be able to perform some new songs on the tour even if it’s not finalized to give a different show from Born Pink (I’m also assuming girls will have a longer solo section).

My best guess is that they will aim for a release right before the Seoul stop (July 4th) or a week later before the US stops unless they really can’t manage to finalize it for this time. We would need a teaser in the next 2 weeks for that

so looks like we may be getting a pre-single before the tour, but the full album won’t be out until later in the year…mhm, personally I’d prefer to have the full album out before the tour so we can see the new performances live. don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited for the tour but was expecting we’d be seeing something new for it.
