for me, it the fact that they had a whole choreography for their songs and that they sung/rapped while dancing and I found that fascinating and got me deeper in blackpink and kpop

My kids. They sucked me into the kpop world after Just Dance 2019. It was also right after my husband passed away so it brought us together. Plus I found their upbeat music would always lift our moods/depression.

Ice Cream and How You Like That!
I’m a big Selena Gomez fan, so Ice Cream was my introduction to them. But then once I saw the How You Like That music video, I was hooked for life.

The rap 🙈 in HYLT such a banger!
I went to see the their concert movie and I was hooked, the songs all of them were banger after banger, their solo performances! Jisoo’s VCR!!! I went back the next 2 days
I only identified Lisa but seeing the 3 members was like “who are these people!?” Idk what it really was but everything was a good surprise. I’m so glad I found out about the movie just in time

Space Force on Netflix – the scene where Jimmy O Yang and Tawny Newsome’s characters were dancing to k-pop (AOA I think). I decided that i really liked the music and started down the k-pop rabbit hole, and then my wife said “hey you should listen to Blackpink I think they’re my favorites” and now we’re going to see Blackpink in a couple weeks haha.

Just by watching their music videos and music show stages. BLACKPINK house is what I really enjoyed and their Netflix movie. Seeing them live at born pink encore tour definitely made me a blink though.

I love the big epic-sounding and dynamic production of certain songs like DDDDD, Forever Young AIIYL, Boombayah and especially HYLT where it starts off slow and builds up intensity.

Interestingly their songs made me more confident, proud, and happy about myself. Might be the upbeat sound, but they keep me going. I usually start playing AIIYL or forever young when I am sad.

Rosé’s voice. I didn’t even know who was who, but I heard one of their songs riding in a car, and that voice was so different from what I had heard in K-pop. Also, the heavy, YG-style beat.

I wasn’t into kpop until 2017. Looked up BlackPink listened to Boombayah and was immediately hooked. Seeing their personalities and how they interact with each other is really cool, cute, and just down right awesome. What I really love is they’ve accomplished a lot and been through a lot, they stand their ground and keep going! No matter the hardships they face in life or the toxic haters who posts nasty and negative comments about them, they keep going and shows em what’s up! And to this day they keep giving us more and more and more and more never disappointing Blinks! 🖤BLΛƆKPIИK💗 is the revolution ❤JENNIE❤ 🖤BLIИK💗!

it was 2017 and i was a sophomore in high school, i was just getting out of the cheer season and i was home for break when i accidentally stumbled on stan twitter and the dance practice to DKWTDWY and the rest is history…until like 2022 and most of their problematic past was resurfacing with the recent comeback and the fans were the same. justifying the girls so i left the fandom
